What Vero is

Vero is a customer engagement platform that sends email, iOS and Android push notifications and SMS for software businesses. The home page calls it "The no-nonsense multi-channel customer engagement platform for product-led teams," and the industries menu names SaaS, EdTech, marketplaces and tech-enabled services. The company behind it is Vero Holdings Australia Pty Ltd, according to the footer, and the home page says it has "been in business for 12+ years" and has "raised just one round of funding and have grown organically." The features page reports "99.9%+" uptime so far this year and "5 billion+" messages sent last year.

The company's stated philosophy is restraint: "We are laser focused on giving you exactly the features you need to get the job done, and none that you don't." It sells itself as "Reliable, easy-to-use, fairly priced," from startups to teams inside large enterprises.

Journeys, broadcasts and channels

Vero has two ways to send. Journeys "Build multi-step automations visually: trigger on customer activity, branch on conditions, and act in real time." Broadcasts "Send one-to-many email campaigns and recurring newsletters, with dynamic segmentation so each user gets the right message." The pricing page's feature table also lists transactional emails, unsubscribe handling, A/B testing, custom email domains, dedicated IPs and optional bring-your-own email providers.

The home page gives onboarding as a typical use: helping "new users reach their 'aha moment' quicker" with messages based on which features they use. Across channels, email is built with a drag-and-drop editor for "responsive, compliant, on-brand emails," SMS can "Reach users on-the-go in over 140 countries," and mobile push covers iOS and Android apps.

Editing and personalization

The editor tools are broad. The features page lists a drag-and-drop editor, predesigned templates, Liquid templating for "dynamic customer and event data," dynamic data feeds that "Pull data from internal or public APIs at send time," and localization: "Create a message variant in any language. Vero sends customers the right one." The pricing table adds an HTML email editor, a rich text editor, an email template library and internationalization of campaign content. A/B tests cover "subject lines, content, and timing across broadcasts and journeys."

Audiences and data

Segmentation runs on customer properties, customer activity (events) and message activity such as opens and clicks, with a visual segment designer, real-time segments, and imports of ad-hoc segments by CSV or SQL. Profiles store custom attributes like "demographic data, subscription preferences," and activity tracking keeps a record of what customers do "and don't do" on your site and in your product.

Data can reach Vero through its track API, an HTML form builder, CSV imports, or a direct connection. The integrations page describes Vero Connect, which sends messages straight from a data warehouse or database: Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift, Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL and Google Sheets are listed. CDP and reverse ETL sources include Segment, RudderStack, Hightouch, Census, Tealium, Freshpaint and Lexer; automation tools include Zapier, Make, Integrately and n8n. Outbound, webhooks send "message engagement data (opens, clicks and more)" to any API destination, and Stitch, Snowplow and a Segment destination return interaction data to your warehouse. For delivery, the integrations page lists SendGrid, Mailgun, Mandrill and Mailjet as third-party email providers, with Twilio and Amazon SNS for push. Other connections include Unbounce and Gleam for lead capture, Survicate and Refiner for surveys, Crowdin for translating emails, push and SMS, Branch deep links and Google Analytics UTM tagging.

Customers on the home page point at the warehouse approach. One calls Vero Connect "fundamental to being able to build and scale our personalized emails on behalf of our brokers."

AI agents and API

Vero runs an MCP server that "lets AI agents draft broadcasts, check journey status, and manage A/B tests," and the features page says "Claude, ChatGPT, and Notion all connect through the same open standard." There is "Full API access whenever you need to go beyond the UI," plus a developer guide and API reference.

Reporting

Reports track "send, delivery, open, and click rates by campaign, variation, and language," and the pricing table adds conversion tracking, unsubscribe tracking, report exports and detailed, searchable logs.

Pricing

Vero publishes its prices. The Starter plan is $54 a month, with 10% off when billed annually, and includes 5,000 user profiles, 10,000 emails a month, 20,000 push messages a month and 160,000 events tracked a month. SMS volume on Starter is custom. When you cross a Starter threshold, the page says, "We will notify you via email when you cross the thresholds of the Starter plan to discuss a custom, Professional plan with you." The Professional plan is "Custom based on usage," with custom volumes for profiles, email, push, events and SMS. On both plans, team members and isolated sub-accounts are listed as unlimited.

The pricing model is what Vero calls "composable": you pay for the events you track and how long they are stored, and for each channel you use, with "discounted rates when combining channels." The FAQ says bills are based on forecast or actual averages with a "fair use" overage policy "to keep your invoices smooth over time."

Sub-accounts are called Projects, each "a dedicated workspace with a standalone database, API keys, and campaigns." Vero does not charge for extra projects and bills total usage across them, and the FAQ adds: "If you're an agency, you may also use projects to manage multiple clients."

The home page offers a "14 days free trial" with "No credit card needed," and the features page advertises a free account.

Support, security and data

Support runs "24 hours a day, five days a week," with team members "in Australia, Europe, and the USA," and the FAQ says email support has "a customer satisfaction rating of over 98%." Professional customers also get priority and chat support designed so those with mission-critical messaging "have access to support 24/7." The feature table also lists live chat support via Slack and a dedicated customer success manager among the support options. Customers on the home page single out support staff by name.

The security page says services are hosted on Amazon Web Services and "These databases are all located in the United States." Databases are encrypted at rest and applications encrypt in transit with TLS/SSL. The company's information security program "is based on criteria set forth by the SOC 2 Framework," and staff access to infrastructure uses single sign-on, two-factor authentication and strong passwords where available. For customers, the pricing table lists granular role-based permissions, 2FA and login with Google. The pricing FAQ says Vero processes data "in accordance with legislation, including the EU GDPR," that your data always belongs to you, and that you can export or request removal of it at any time. The footer links to GDPR and DSA commitment pages.

Who it suits

Vero fits a product-led SaaS, EdTech or marketplace team that wants email, push and SMS driven by product events, especially one whose customer data already lives in a warehouse like Snowflake or BigQuery. The published Starter price, unlimited team members and projects, and 24/5 support make it approachable for smaller teams, and agencies can separate clients into projects.

A sender whose needs stop at a simple newsletter will not use most of the event and warehouse tooling, and teams that must keep data outside the United States should note where the security page says the databases sit.
