Sidemail is an email platform for SaaS and AI products that sends transactional email through an API or SMTP relay and also handles product updates, newsletters, automated sequences, subscribe forms and contact profiles. Its homepage headline is "Email delivery made simple for SaaS & AI," and the footer describes it as "an all-in-one email platform for SaaS. Estd. 2018. Brought to you by the team behind Robolly and EmailSupportAI". The homepage adds "Over 8 years on the market. Millions of emails delivered. Independent EU team trusted by happy customers," and the footer reads "Made in EU. GDPR compliant." The site is available in English, Czech and Spanish.
What a sender gets
The feature menu splits Sidemail into three groups. Communication covers the email sending API, the SMTP relay, Messenger for product updates and newsletters, email automation for sequences, and white-label sending, which lets a SaaS "send emails from your customers' brands." Audience covers subscribe forms and contact profiles, which keep all subscribers in one place. Development covers the no-code email editor for reusable templates, premade transactional email templates, markdown emails and an Email MCP server for sending and managing email from AI tools.
The transactional side is the core. The email sending API page promises "Production-ready in under 30 minutes" and walks through three steps: sign up and create a project, add your sending domain and grab an API key; pick a template from Sidemail's library of pre-built templates or build one in the visual no-code editor, adding logos, buttons, images, charts and code; then call the API or the official Node.js SDK. The dashboard gives copy-paste code snippets "in Node.js, PHP, Python, Ruby, cURL, and other," tailored to each template. The menus list framework guides for Express.js, Next.js, Laravel, Symfony, Slim, Django, Flask, FastAPI, Ruby on Rails and WordPress.
Emails can be sent several ways: from a no-code template, from markdown, as plain text, or as custom HTML. Sidemail says it "automatically transforms the markdown content into pixel-perfect emails optimized for all devices and inboxes," branded with your logo and project design. The API also supports scheduled delivery, file attachments and data charts, and variables add recipient-specific details such as links, dates and amounts. Templates are "Mobile-responsive," "Outlook-safe," customizable and support dark mode; one customer quoted on the homepage notes that you upload two logos, one for light and one for dark themes.
For marketing mail, Sidemail's own Amazon SES alternatives article describes writing a product update as "as simple as writing a message in Gmail," with scheduled delivery, delivery by recipients' timezones, email variables and recipient segmentation. The homepage also offers a Stripe integration: "Instantly import your Stripe customer emails into Sidemail with a single click," with "Always up-to-date data," so automated emails can target paying customers to boost conversions and prevent churn.
Developers get an email history and logging view. The API page promises "Unlimited searchable email history," a "30-day full email preview" and an email activity timeline, plus a log of every API request with its body, response, status and duration. The MCP server lets you send and manage "transactional emails, newsletters, contacts, sending domains" from VS Code, Claude, Cursor and other MCP clients.
Deliverability
Sidemail sells delivery as a managed service. Its FAQ says "we automatically set up DKIM and SPF authentication for your sending domain" and "automatically handle bounces and spam complaints for you via suppression lists." The API page adds that you do not need to "babysit DNS or stress about IP warm up, suppression list, feedback loops, HTML email structure and other tricky stuff." The homepage describes "an infrastructure that’s rock-solid" paired with "a careful sender vetting process." The SES alternatives article states that Sidemail is "built upon the Amazon SES robust architecture in combination with custom in-house configurations." The site also offers free tools, including an email validator, email list cleaner, and DKIM, SPF and DMARC checkers and generators.
Pricing, trial and support
Sidemail sells one plan that covers everything: the SES alternatives article says "All Sidemail plans include everything you need for delivering transactional and marketing emails, sending product updates, setting up email automation, collecting your subscribers' information, and managing your contacts." It prices by monthly email volume, and the comparison table in that article lists Sidemail at $19 a month for 1,000 emails, $32 for 10,000, $219 for 250,000, $369 for 500,000 and $619 for 1,000,000, covering transactional and marketing mail together. The same table lists unlimited contacts and unlimited team members.
There is no free plan. The article says Sidemail decided "to pass the free plan and instead offer 7 days as a free trial for testing," and the API page says the free trial comes "with full features."
Support is included on every plan, according to the comparison table. The article says "Founders themselves answer more than 95% of all support emails," and the API page promises help "even on weekends" from "the engineers who built the platform." On compliance, the FAQ says "Sidemail is EU-based and GDPR compliant. Your data and your users’ data are handled with care and stored securely," and the footer links to a Data Processing Agreement, a Service Level Agreement and an anti-spam policy. An API status page is linked from the resources menu.
Who it suits
Sidemail fits a SaaS team, from a solo founder to a small engineering group, that wants password resets, welcome emails and sign-in links to go out through a clean API, and also wants to send product updates and simple automated sequences without adding a second tool. Customers quoted on the site include the CTO of RapidPay Group, the founder of Pintura, who moved off PHP mail() after messages landed in spam, and the founder of Visalist, who says he was "up and sending welcome emails in 10 mins." EU companies that want a GDPR-compliant vendor based in the EU, and teams that want personal support from the people who built the product, are the clearest match.
Sidemail's own article says the product "might not be suitable" for an offline business or for a team that needs "advanced functionality just for email marketing." A team that wants a permanent free plan has to budget from the $19 starting tier after the 7-day trial.
