Optimove is a customer engagement platform for large consumer brands that run lifecycle marketing at scale: marketing campaigns and triggered journeys over email, SMS, mobile, web, WhatsApp and ad networks, plus a separate transactional email API for order confirmations and similar one-to-one messages. The company sells it around an idea it calls "Positionless Marketing." Its homepage asks how much more a team could get done "if you were free from the limitations of fixed marketing positions", and argues that traditional marketing "works on an assembly line, where everyone waits for someone else before moving forward." The platform's job, in that framing, is to let one marketer handle data, creative and optimization without waiting on engineers, designers or analysts. The customers quoted on the homepage lean heavily toward iGaming and retail, with names such as FDJ United, Entain, Kaizen Gaming, Musti Group, Blains Farm & Fleet, MyHeritage, Jabra and Varsity Tutors.
What a marketer gets
The homepage breaks the pitch into three "powers." Data power is to "Instantly discover customer insights and segments for precise targeting and hyper-personalization", without depending on engineering. Creative power is to "Create assets like copy and visuals instantly for any channel", with no waiting for creatives. Optimization power is to "Give campaigns and messages the power to optimize themselves through automation of journeys and testing", with no analyst needed.
The product menu shows what sits behind that: an Orchestration Engine, the Customer Engagement Platform itself, Digital Personalization, Gamified Marketing, what Optimove calls The Complete AI Suite, AI Marketing Agents, the Optimove MCP and Custom Apps. Email is one of the native channels alongside SMS, mobile, web, ad networks and WhatsApp. The developer documentation adds detail on the non-email side: web push setup, webpage pop-ups, embedded messaging, a web inbox, overlay messaging, an SMS API with delivery report and incoming message webhooks, and gamified minigames and loyalty widgets.
Optimove's learning center describes the method the platform is built around. It walks through lifecycle stages such as registered users, first-time customers, active and frequent customers, risk-of-churn, churned and reactivated customers, and argues that each stage needs different messages and offers. It names RFM segmentation as a way to find the most valuable customers and those at greatest risk of churning. The same page describes Optimove's Relationship Marketing Hub as "customer lifecycle marketing software that combines the most advanced customer intelligence technologies with an automated customer lifecycle marketing orchestration and optimization platform", and lists predictive customer modeling, dynamic customer micro-segmentation, multi-channel campaign automation and AI-driven campaign optimization as its building blocks.
Testimonials on the homepage describe what the speed claims look like in practice. FDJ United's head of marketing transformation says "a single marketer can now execute a campaign end-to-end from ideation through planning, content, and delivery in under 24 hours", and a quote from the same company in a featured story says "In the past, we needed seven teams and six weeks to send a single campaign. Now, one person can do it in a day." MyHeritage says it moved "from English-only emails to global campaigns in 20+ languages with preview, test, and QA tools." Kaizen Gaming says it went from 2 plans for 100K customers in 2019 to "400+ recurring plans targeting 13M customers with the same core team" by 2024.
The email and transactional side
Optimove separates marketing email from transactional email, and its developer documentation explains why: marketing emails go to opted-in customers, while transactional emails are "one-to-one emails containing information that completes a transaction or process initiated by the customer, such as order confirmations or password reset messages." The page gives purchases, shipments and a game level reached as typical triggers, and says you need a transactional IP and account if you send to "both opted-in and opted-out users."
Setting it up follows five steps in that guide. You fill out a separate account form in the Customer Portal, and Optimove's Product Integration Team sends DNS records for your account and IP, which you add to your DNS host before sending; the page says "This step is required for sender authentication." You then create an API key and connect to the Optimove Transactional Email API. Templates are built in a drag-and-drop Visual Editor or an HTML Editor, stored separately from marketing templates, and personalized with tags that must start with TRANS:, as in [%TRANS:CART_URL%]. Each SendMail call can carry multiple recipients with their own tags, and an optional ScheduleTime parameter delays a send (in UTC); without it, mail goes out immediately.
The guide also covers volume and monitoring. If daily sending exceeds 5,000 during onboarding or migration, "Special accommodations and throttling plans may be needed" to build the IP's sender reputation safely. Past sends can be measured through the GetTemplateMetrics and GetUserMetrics API calls, and a Campaign Deliverability BI Report tracks performance and "factors impacting sender reputation." The documentation index also carries guides on IP warm-up and email deliverability, adding Optimove DNS records to a CDN, and product recommendation campaigns.
Data, integrations and security
Optimove expects your customer data to flow into it. The developer hub documents data delivery by files and database, Iceberg integrations for Databricks and for Snowflake on AWS and GCP, zero copy connections for Databricks and Snowflake, event-based integration, a Web SDK, a Segment integration, a Customer Lists API and a Campaign API. It also ships ready-made data schemas for verticals such as casino, sport, lottery, poker, ecommerce, forex, trading and streaming, which says a lot about who the platform is built for. An Optimove Data Share lets you unload campaign and customer data back out to S3 or GCS.
The security section of the documentation lists an IP allow list and single sign-on through Azure AD, Okta, JumpCloud and Duo, plus a guide to removing personal data. The site links to a Trust Center.
Pricing
The site publishes no prices; plans are sold through a demo request. The one pricing hint is Optimove Ignite+ for iGaming startups, which the menu describes as "Pre-built journeys, a dedicated CRM expert, and pricing that fits your stage." Optimove also sells professional services, courses and certifications.
On the analyst side, the homepage says Optimove is "a three-time Visionary and placed in the top 3 positions across all four use cases in Gartner's 2026 Critical Capabilities for Multichannel Marketing Hubs report," and that it ranked first in the Real Time Personalization and Decisioning use case.
Who it suits
Optimove fits a consumer brand with a large customer base, a data team that can deliver customer data to it, and a CRM team that wants to run many segmented lifecycle campaigns across email, SMS, app and web without growing headcount. iGaming operators are its clearest audience, judging by the vertical schemas, the Ignite+ offer and most of the homepage testimonials; retail, ecommerce, financial services, online trading, travel and hospitality are the other industries the menu names.
It is not built for a small business sending a monthly newsletter. There is no self-serve sign-up or published plan, setting up transactional email runs through a customer success manager and DNS records issued by Optimove, and the value depends on feeding it detailed customer data.
