What Dreamlit is

Dreamlit is an email platform for software products that reads straight from the app's own Postgres database. It exists in two forms. The current headline offer is "User activation, done-for-you": the home page says "Our experts run your emails with proven playbooks and own the results," and the FAQ describes it as a service where "Our experts read your product data, build your funnel, and run the emails that turn signups into paying users, reviewing every one before it goes out." It is aimed at "Companies with 500+ signups a month that want more of them to become paying users, especially teams without a lifecycle marketer." The second form is the self-serve product that came first: "The Dreamlit email engine (legacy) is still available for teams that want to build their own workflows: transactional, lifecycle, and marketing emails, broadcasts, and analytics."

How the done-for-you service works

The home page calls Dreamlit "an analytics engine that can actually act." Setup has two inputs. First, you connect your Postgres database "with read-only access," so Dreamlit sees what happens in your app in real time. Second, you drop in your site URL, and Dreamlit uses AI to study your site and learn your positioning, key features, pricing model, customers and industry. The company then brings playbooks for your industry, and "Our human experts review every insight and campaign."

What you get back is a funnel built for your business (for example signed up, finished onboarding, used key features, upgraded to Pro), a list of the gaps where users drop off, and email workflows drafted to close them. Key moments such as nearing a usage limit, being inactive for 14+ days, pending invites and failed payments are tracked automatically.

The review step is shown as an approval queue. Each proposed change comes with a reason and a success measure: a reminder for unaccepted team invites ("Similar reminders recover about a third within a week"), a rewritten welcome subject line with the goal "Open rate above 40% across the next 200 sends," a payment recovery sequence of retry and final notices, moving a weekly digest to Tuesday mornings, and a nudge for trials that skipped a demo call. The customer can approve each one or switch on an auto-approve mode.

The sample emails show the tone Dreamlit aims for: short, specific, and written as if by a person. One nudges a user whose site is "sitting at 90% done" to press publish. A win-back for a running app opens with "Your 3-run streak isn't gone yet" and suggests "an easy 10 minutes." A trial upsell for an invoicing app reminds the user how much they invoiced during the trial. The site says these emails are written from live product data and aimed at the primary inbox rather than the promotions tab. A weekly wins report shows which sends led to activations, upgrades and conversions, and how many minutes after the email each happened.

The email engine

The email engine is the platform underneath, and the earlier version of the home page described it in detail as "AI Email Marketing that runs on your database." It promised "No API. No data to sync. No code to write. Just securely connect your database to get started." Listed as compatible were Postgres on Supabase, Neon, AWS and Railway, with Shopify, Lovable, Bolt, V0 and Replit also named; the site says it is "Native to Supabase and Postgres," and the guides menu covers Supabase, Lovable, Bolt, v0 and Replit.

Workflows are built on a visual canvas from a few node types:

  • Database triggers that fire "When a row is added in the users table," in real time.
  • Repeating triggers, such as every day at 9:00 AM EST.
  • One-off broadcasts scheduled for a date and time.
  • Data queries that select or filter recipients, for example free-plan users or trials ending tomorrow.
  • Wait steps, Send Email and Send Slack actions.

You can also describe a workflow in plain English and let the AI build it. The site gives examples: a welcome workflow that sends a feedback request 3 days later and posts to a Slack alerts channel; Supabase Auth emails that send a branded confirmation link and a reminder 10 minutes later; a promotion to free-plan users offering 20% off for 6 months with a 30% follow-up; a daily trial-to-paid push at 9am EST; and a teammate invite email with a reminder a week later if the invite is still open.

Other engine features on the page: previewing emails with live database rows before publishing, broadcasts and recurring emails "No data sync required," brand styles for a consistent look, point-and-click template edits where you select an element and click "Ask for changes," and analytics that "Combine app data with email event data to get a 360 degree view of your users' engagement." Personalization uses template variables with defaults, as in the sample subject line built from a user name with a fallback value. An inbound email feature was listed as "Coming soon": a hosted inbox whose incoming messages start workflows that can extract data with AI, update the database, notify the team or call a webhook.

The footer lists a Dreamlit MCP server, solutions for marketers, startups, Shopify and AI agents, a changelog, docs and a status page, plus free tools including an email checker, magic link checker, SMTP test, and SPF and DKIM generators.

Pricing

The done-for-you service runs "From $3,000 /mo." The FAQ says: "Pricing depends on your scale and scope. Plans start at $3,000 a month and include expert review of every change." That plan includes your own Dreamlit expert "accountable for the numbers," a weekly wins report, and going "Live in a day: one read-only database connection, no code." Before committing, you can request a free audit that shows where users drop off and what it is costing you. The company says it is onboarding "a few teams at a time" through a waitlist, and that "you will hear from a person, not a drip sequence."

For the engine, the site says "Existing email engine plans are unchanged, and current customers can switch whenever it makes sense," and links to separate email engine pricing. When the engine was the headline product, the home page offered it as "Free to start" with no credit card required.

The legal menu includes a GDPR page alongside the privacy policy, terms, acceptable use and cookie policies. The FAQ adds that Dreamlit works alongside the email you already send: "We work alongside what you already send, start with the biggest gap, and prove results before expanding."

Who it suits

The managed service fits a product company on Postgres with steady signups, at least the 500 a month the site names, that wants activation email run by experts with a clear monthly price and no engineering work. The legacy engine fits a founder or small team, often building on Supabase or with an AI app builder, who wants to describe a workflow in a sentence and have welcome, auth, trial and broadcast emails driven straight from database rows.

It is a poor fit for a business that keeps its customers in a list rather than an app database, and the managed tier's price puts it beyond very early products; the engine is the route for those teams.
