What Customerly is
Customerly is a customer engagement platform from Customerly Ltd, whose footer gives an address at 40 Dame Street, Dublin and says: "Based in Ireland. All data is stored in EU only." Its copyright line runs from 2015 to 2026. Its headline product today is Aura, an AI agent that resolves support tickets, but the platform around it also handles messaging: newsletters, marketing automation funnels, live chat, a help center, surveys and NPS. Customer stories on the home page describe it as the tool that brought those pieces together. A marketing manager at Paymo says Customerly "had exactly what we were looking for: chat, help center, marketing automation, and newsletter," and the NotJustAnalytics case study lists "5-in-1 tools consolidated (chat, funnels, inboxes, surveys, newsletters)."
For a reader choosing an email platform, that framing matters. Customerly is not a standalone newsletter service. It suits a team, usually a software company, that wants its product emails, its support conversations and its customer data in one place.
Email, funnels and templates
The company blog walks through how email marketing works inside Customerly. Users can start from ready-made templates or "start building your own email templates with our free email template builder." Building an email means selecting a layout and dragging in blocks; an Image Block accepts an image URL, so dynamic images can be embedded. The blog shows this with personalized images from Hyperise, a partner service, and explains that "Customerly will now pass the collected data it has to the image," so each recipient sees an image generated with their own details. Hyperise offers Customerly users 30% off its image personalization packages.
The same post lays out a set of SaaS onboarding templates that can be adapted: a welcome email, a "your trial is ending" email, an email asking why a user did not upgrade, a "why did you cancel" email, a credit card declined email, and a conversation starter to request an interview with a current customer. That set maps well to the lifecycle of a free trial, and it shows the kind of sender Customerly has in mind: a SaaS team moving trial users toward a paid plan.
Automation runs through what the platform calls funnels and flows. The NotJustAnalytics story credits a "Free → Paid conversion lift from Funnel + Live Chat automations," and the Paymo story reports a "+20% lift in lead engagement after automation." The blog footer invites readers to "Harness AI-powered Flows to streamline support, reduce response times, and boost efficiency" without writing code.
Surveys and NPS sit in the same system. The NotJustAnalytics CEO says: "We improved our platform by getting immediate feedback from our customers." Nibol's head of customer success lists "Messaging, Live Chat, NPS, and Help Center" as the features the company needed.
Aura, the AI agent
Most of the home page is about Aura. The headline is "The AI agent that actually resolves tickets," and the pitch is that Customerly's AI "goes far beyond FAQs. It understands what customers actually need, pulls the information from your knowledge base, billing, and customer data, then handles it all without escalation." The site names four capabilities:
- It accesses all your data to fully resolve tickets.
- It recovers churns or refunds on its own, offering "alternatives, fixes, and incentives when clients are unhappy," and processing the refund itself if that fails.
- It loops in a human when it has reached its limit, and human agents can always step in.
- It works across "live chat, email, WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger, and your mobile apps all in one orchestrated motion."
Further features listed are direct integration with billing, product and customer systems so the agent can take real actions, built-in decisioning about what data to use and when to escalate, intent-based resolution, and multi-step workflow automation from request to resolution. A BRUM marketing operations lead notes that when you analyze Aura's conversations "you can see exactly why she gave that answer: which flow was triggered, which knowledge base article was used."
The rollout is described in three steps: Customerly connects the platform to your helpdesk and core systems and picks the highest-impact requests to automate first; you define how each request category is handled; then you start small on real tickets and expand. The feature list also includes AI live chat, a help center, and iOS and Android mobile apps, plus API documentation and a public roadmap.
Results the company reports
The home page carries several case studies with figures:
- BRUM, a digital driving school "behind 117k app downloads," reports that 18.5% of qualified inbound chats convert to paying customers, 47 customers acquired through Aura in 6 months, and a 26s average first reply time across every channel.
- WeShoot, a photography workshop company run by two people, went from response times of over a day to 15 seconds, with 82% of inquiries resolved without a human and 100% positive ratings on AI conversations. Its founder says Aura closed 5 bookings on her own in the first week.
- TeamSystem Fatture in Cloud, an invoicing software company, reports 60% of customer support automated, an 83% reduction in costs and a 20% increase in customer satisfaction.
- Nibol lists "EU hosted infrastructure for compliance" and a "Multilingual AI Help Center that scales globally."
Pricing
Customerly offers a free trial and a demo. Its FAQ names two plans, Growth and Ultimate ("Most teams scale comfortably with Growth or Ultimate"), and explains the two usage meters rather than printing plan prices. The first is interactions: "An interaction is any incoming user message, email sent, or survey response." Each plan includes a number of interactions, and "Extra interactions are billed on a pay-as-you-go basis starting at €0.99 per 1,000 interactions." Because every email sent counts as an interaction, newsletter volume draws on the same allowance as incoming chat messages and survey responses.
The second meter is AI conversations. Any conversation in which Aura actively participates counts as one, however many messages follow. Plans include a set number of AI Conversation Credits that never expire, and more are "billed at €0.50 each when purchased on demand, or at a reduced rate of €0.45 each when bought in advance." The home page also has a savings calculator that estimates yearly savings from ticket volume and agent cost.
Data location and compliance
The footer statement is plain: the company is based in Ireland and all data is stored in the EU only. The legal links include GDPR, Security, EU AI Act and Subprocessors pages.
Who it suits
Customerly fits a SaaS or app company, often a small one, that wants onboarding and lifecycle email, newsletters, live chat, a help center and surveys under one roof, with an AI agent resolving support tickets. Teams in the EU that care where their customer data lives get a clear answer in the footer. The usage-based model, where emails and chat messages draw on one pool of interactions, rewards teams whose volume is moderate and mixed.
A business that only needs to send large newsletters, with no chat or support side, would be paying for an AI support suite it does not use, and a very high-volume sender should size the interaction allowance with the company before committing.
