CM.com is a Dutch messaging and customer engagement company whose platform covers email, SMS, RCS, WhatsApp, voice, social messengers, payments and AI agents on one shared customer profile. Its site says "CM.com is headquartered in the Netherlands and processes data within the EU. Full GDPR compliance, by default, not as an add-on." The company dates its conversation business to 1999, when "a conversation was a text message", and says it has handled "a trillion conversations" since. Email is one product in that suite: the email campaigns tool designs, automates and reports on "marketing and transactional email campaigns with personalized emails that convert", and it plugs into the same workflows as SMS and WhatsApp.

What a sender gets

The editor. Newsletters and promotional emails are built in a drag and drop editor, or in HTML, and every campaign previews and sends as responsive email on any device. You can send a test campaign before going live, build templates that send automatically, and store images and files in a content studio. The South African page adds personalized subject lines and preview text, and an A/B testing feature for optimizing campaigns.

Personalization. The email page's example is memorable: "Show dog photos to dog lovers and cat photos to cat lovers in one email campaign." Conditional content personalizes anything from a few words to whole sections of a design, based on any contact information you hold, with "No coding required." The Address Book holds contacts and custom fields for that targeting.

Automation. A workflow editor builds automated customer journeys and combines email with SMS and WhatsApp. Once a segment is synced to the Address Book, "as contacts enter a segment (from newsletter subscribers to contact requests), campaigns are auto triggered." The page names DRIP and nurturing campaigns, welcome emails, product showcases and triggered mail such as password recoveries or abandoned bags.

Transactional email. CM.com sends transactional mail "via API integration": purchase receipts, shipping notifications, account creation and activation, password resets and authentication emails. An Email API and an Email Gateway API sit in the developer menu, next to SMS, voice, business messaging, one-time password and verification APIs, a sandbox, SDKs and a GitHub presence.

Deliverability. The feature list includes "Manage Sender Score", described as maximizing "inbox delivery rate & IP reputation to avoid filtering & blocking."

Reporting. Reporting covers unique and total opens, click-through rates, bounce rates, forwards and unsubscribes, automation analytics for future campaigns, and management of subscribers and unsubscribed contacts.

The Mobile Marketing Cloud. On the South African page, email is sold as part of the Mobile Marketing Cloud, which bundles four pieces: the email campaigns tool, a Customer Data Platform that collects and organizes customer data across touchpoints into a single view of each contact, omni-channel marketing across Facebook Messenger, WhatsApp, SMS, mobile landing pages and email, and marketing automation with segments and workflows across those channels. The Danish page makes the same point from the email side: go "further than just email marketing" and "Drive more business combining email with SMS and more mobile channels."

Channels around email. The channel menu lists RCS for Business ("Rich cards, carousels, verified sender and read receipts"), WhatsApp Business, voice with cloud telephony, IVR and AI voice agents, plus email, Instagram, Facebook Messenger, Viber, Telegram and Apple Messages for Business. The home page says "Every CM.com product works across all channels," and the South African page describes the Mobile Marketing Cloud as consent-based mobile marketing from real-time notifications to nurturing flows, with mobile landing pages among its channels.

The wider platform

The home page organizes CM.com into four suites that share one customer context:

  • Connect brings every channel through one connection, with a Conversational Router that turns raw messages into conversations.
  • Activate is marketing: campaigns, marketing automation and CXP Predictions, which write forecasts to each profile so "one workflow sends a different message per customer."
  • Convert handles payments, ticket sales and signed contracts, so every transaction feeds the same customer context.
  • Support runs HALO AI Agents, which "resolve the routine on their own across chat, email and voice", and an Agent Inbox for the human team.

The suites are meant to be bought in steps. The home page says to "Start with one, keep the systems you already have, and add the rest as you grow," so an email customer can begin in Activate and add support or payments later.

Underneath sits the Customer Context Platform, which the site says connects everything known about a customer and, with CXP Predictions, forecasts what each customer is likely to do next. HALO agents work from that same context, so an agent on a service call "already knows about the campaign sent last week."

Plans, pricing and trial

Published prices appear on the South African email page, under "Pricing and packages for Mobile Marketing Cloud", in rand and based on annual billing, with monthly billing 5% higher:

  • Basic: from R 529 / month
  • Advanced: from R 1,499 / month, with an "Additional pricing" note
  • a third tier: "Price on request"

The page explains the email allowance: a Mobile Marketing Cloud subscription includes 5 times the number of CDP profiles in your package as emails per month at no extra cost, and "If you exceed this number, you will pay R20 per 1000 emails." There is a 14-day free trial that starts immediately. The Danish email page shows no prices and offers a 10-minute demo video in exchange for contact details. Other regions should expect their own pricing.

Trust and track record

Beyond GDPR and EU data processing, the home page claims "Security and responsible AI, certified", a licensed PSP for payments, "Sovereign by design. Your data stays in Europe," direct operator, Meta and Google connections, and a CPaaS Leader ranking from Juniper Research "Four years in a row." A Trust Center, platform status page, release notes and customer support are linked. Named customers include Hirsch's, Sasfin, PaySpace, Hollard, Hello Paisa, BMW Group and Pargo, with stories on BMW's ConnectedDrive SMS, TeamNL and the Formula 1 Heineken Dutch Grand Prix. The industries it builds for are retail and ecommerce, leisure and travel, financial services, charities, utilities and logistics, and healthcare.

Who it suits

CM.com fits a mid-sized or large business that wants email, SMS and WhatsApp in one workflow and may add payments, ticketing or AI customer service later, especially one that needs its data processed in the EU. South African senders get a published price ladder and a trial.

A small newsletter sender can use the Basic plan, but most of what CM.com sells lies beyond email. Developers who only need an email API will find one, alongside a lot of platform they may not need.
