Tap a star to rate
theMarketer is an email marketing and marketing automation platform for online stores. It sends personalized newsletters, automated flows such as welcome emails, post-purchase sequences and anniversaries, and SMS and push campaigns from the same account, and it adds loyalty, referral and review tools built around the shop's customer data. The site is available in English, Hungarian, Romanian and Bulgarian, and its integration list leans heavily on e-commerce platforms, from Magento and WooCommerce to regional shop systems such as Gomag, Unas, ShopRenter and Shoptet. The homepage pitch is "Easy is the new powerful": the tools an online shop needs to grow, in one place.
What a sender gets
Newsletters and the builder. The homepage promises personalized campaigns built "within minutes, without using code." What sets the builder apart, by theMarketer's own account, is that the predefined templates feature the store's own products rather than stock content, so the preview shows how the campaign will really look to subscribers. The feature list names an email builder, personalization and dynamic content, and personalized product recommendations. A template library covers many kinds of online businesses, aesthetic styles, occasions and industries, each tagged by color and style, and a template can be customized with brand colors and images. Visitors can even open a template in the builder and try it without an account, though changes cannot be saved that way.
Automation. Pre-built automations "drive sales 24/7", covering welcome emails, post-purchase flows and anniversaries, with the promise that these customer journeys can be scaled as the store grows. Audience management and reporting and analytics are separate feature areas. One customer testimonial, from the marketing director of Libra Internet Bank, mentions A/B testing and scheduling options and immediate performance insights, which confirms those tools exist in practice.
Other channels. theMarketer describes itself as an omnichannel solution: email campaigns for personalization and visual content, SMS campaigns to "build urgency through time-sensitive, personalized offers", and push campaigns to retarget shoppers with short messages. All are run from what the site calls a single email marketing platform. Push notifications can be switched on from the store plugin, as the Magento setup guide shows.
Loyalty, referrals, reviews and the launcher. These four modules carry a PRO label in the site menu. The loyalty program supports multiple tiers with progressive benefits and discounts, and merchants set the tier names, milestones, icons, rewards and point values themselves. Customers can be rewarded for purchases, referrals and more. The referral program turns existing customers into ambassadors. Feedback and reviews covers product reviews and user-generated content. The launcher is an on-site widget that keeps shoppers updated about rewards, loyalty points and referrals as they browse. Creative tools are listed as a further feature area.
Integrations and the Magento setup
The homepage integration strip lists Magento, Magento 2, PrestaShop, OpenCart, CS Cart, WooCommerce, Gomag, Merchant Pro, Extended, Avanticart, Bluegento, Zento, Unas, ShopRenter, Teamshare and Shoptet. The footer adds dedicated integration pages for WordPress, Shopify, Magento, PrestaShop and OpenCart, and the platform menu links an API.
The Magento page shows how a typical plugin install works. The merchant downloads theMarketer plugin from GitHub, uploads it to the store root with an FTP client, clears the cache in the Magento admin and logs back in. In the plugin settings the merchant pastes three credentials copied from theMarketer's technical integration page (Tracking Key, REST Key and Customer ID), then chooses options: enable push notifications, activate a cron feed for large product catalogs, and allow order export to sync existing orders into theMarketer. A Google Tag Manager tag is also added through the plugin. For a developer this is a short job; for a merchant without FTP access it may need help, which the site offers through a "Hire an Expert" resource.
Data protection and security
The homepage has a data protection section headed "GDPR Compliant", which says subscribers get control over how their data is used and give clear consent through double opt-in and opt-out links. The footer lists a Data Processing Addendum, Data Processing Guidelines, a Compliance page, an anti-fraud page and a cybersecurity audit, and states that theMarketer is ISO 27001 certified.
Plans, free start and support
The site has a pricing page in its main menu, and the calls to action read "Get started for free" and "Start now for free", alongside "Book a demo". The four PRO modules (loyalty program, referral program, feedback and reviews, launcher) carry a PRO label, which marks them as extras on top of the core email, SMS and push tools. Other customers quoted on the homepage include the seafood shop FishtoDoor, which credits theMarketer with making tailored offers easy to send, and Quick Mobile, which uses it to launch flash sales at short notice. Resources include a knowledge base, success stories, templates and inspiration, a glossary and a partner program.
Support gets consistent praise on the homepage. Customers describe the team as "quick to respond and always willing to help when needed", "responsive and ready to help" and "always available and super responsive". One customer, a marketing director, reports "a 28% improvement in email open rates, a 35% growth in our active customer base, and a 128% increase in our email marketing channel sales." Another customer writes that after the first newsletter sent through theMarketer, production was blocked for the first time by the number of orders it brought in. The footer shows AVA Digital Awards at Gold and Platinum level.
Who it suits and who it does not
theMarketer suits online stores that want newsletters built from their own products, automated lifecycle flows and a loyalty program on one customer record. It is a particularly natural fit for shops on Magento, WooCommerce, PrestaShop or OpenCart, and for merchants on the regional platforms it supports, such as Gomag, Unas, ShopRenter or Shoptet. Teams working in Hungarian, Romanian or Bulgarian can read the site in their language. Stores that want SMS and push next to email, and a GDPR consent flow with double opt-in, get both in the core product.
It is a weaker fit for senders outside retail: the templates, product feeds and loyalty modules assume a shop catalog. Merchants who only want email should note that loyalty, referrals, reviews and the launcher carry the PRO label. And stores on a platform missing from the integration list will be working through the API rather than a ready plugin.
