SPREAD

Tap a star to rate

SPREAD is a French CRM and marketing platform built for B2C brands: online stores, DNVBs, retailers with physical shops, and tourism businesses. It sends email newsletters and SMS campaigns, both one-off and automated, and wraps them in a wider toolkit of loyalty programs, referral programs, marketing games, on-site popups and a marketing CRM with segmentation, all connected to the merchant's e-commerce CMS. The homepage says more than 300 e-commerce merchants trust SPREAD and that 900+ marketers use it every day. The company behind it is SPREADING APPS SAS, the footer says SPREAD is a member of the French Tech Rouen Normandy network, and the site states that the team has been building the platform for more than 10 years. The site is written in French.

What the platform sends

Email and SMS are designed to work together rather than as separate products. The emailing and SMS page describes a four-step flow. First you choose the channels: a simple newsletter, a simple SMS, or both combined in one defined campaign. You can duplicate a message, reuse templates you have saved in your store's colors, or pick from a catalog of seasonal newsletter and SMS models meant to cover a year of promotions. Sends can also be triggered by marketing automation scenarios instead of launched by hand.

Second comes editing. The email editor is drag and drop. Merchants work from a personal image gallery, retouch visuals inside the editor, control how each component displays on desktop and on mobile, and add dynamic elements such as countdown timers and videos. Text can be personalized with CRM data, down to dynamic content inside the body of the email. The SMS editor shows a precise preview of the message, supports variables and emojis, and can link visitors to SPREAD marketing actions or to landing pages.

Third is testing. The platform offers desktop and mobile rendering tests, a built-in anti-spam test meant to check each newsletter before it goes out, test profiles to verify how variables display, and A/B tests for SMS campaigns so the better-performing version is the one that ships.

Fourth is analysis. Reported KPIs include the number of emails or SMS sent and delivered, bounce rate, click rate, conversion rate and unsubscribe rate, plus revenue generated, number of orders and average basket per campaign. For SMS specifically, SPREAD reports SMS credits spent, average time to click and average time to order. Those results flow back into the CRM and enrich segments for the next campaign.

The platform page claims an SMS open rate above 95 percent, and gives two volume figures: 400M emails sent each year by SPREAD customers (newsletters and automation combined) and 1M marketing SMS sent each year through the platform.

Templates, AI assistant and segmentation

SPREAD offers 150+ newsletter and SMS templates, permanent and seasonal (sales, Black Friday, Christmas, Valentine's Day), and merchants can save their own branded models. Preconfigured SMS models cover the main e-commerce moments. An integrated AI assistant writes email and SMS text "en quelques secondes" (in a few seconds), according to the emailing page, and the navigation lists the AI assistant as a feature in its own right.

Segmentation draws on the SPREAD CRM: purchase behavior, declared preferences, loyalty status, location, acquisition channel and engagement with the brand's marketing games. The page stresses that contacts are continuously deduplicated, segmented and qualified, and that each open, click and purchase is written back to the contact record without manual exports. The emailing page also promises a contact base that is "toujours à jour et conforme au RGPD" (always up to date and GDPR compliant).

Automation, loyalty and games

The automation FAQ lists the scenarios it supports: welcome pack, abandoned cart reminders, repurchase, birthday and reactivation of inactive customers, with email and SMS mixed in one workflow. One-off sends such as a monthly newsletter or a sales-launch SMS sit next to these scenarios in the same interface, on the same data.

Beyond messaging, SPREAD sells three other building blocks on the same subscription. Marketing games include contests, quizzes and tests, photo contests and treasure hunts. The loyalty program runs on missions, loyalty points and VIP statuses. The referral program rewards customers for each friend they bring in. The homepage says merchants can activate more than 70 ready-made campaigns on their website or in store without coding or design skills. Popups for the store's own site are part of the feature list too.

Integrations and deliverability

According to the FAQ, SPREAD integrates natively with Shopify, PrestaShop, Magento and WooCommerce, through a dedicated plugin or a simple script, and connects to ERP and point-of-sale software (Cegid, Secutix, Orchestra) for an omnichannel view of customers in store and online. Because the platform is tied to the store, SPREAD attaches orders to each email and SMS campaign and shows the revenue, best-converting segment and ROI of every send.

On deliverability, the emailing page says SPREAD follows the SPF, DKIM and DMARC authentication standards and continuously monitors the reputation of its sending servers, with the built-in anti-spam test as the merchant-side check.

Plans and pricing

The FAQ answers the price question directly: SPREAD subscriptions start at 150 €/mois (150 euros per month), and every offer includes dedicated support in the form of a Customer Success Manager, technical support and training. The FAQ points to a pricing page for plan details and to a demo for a personalized proposal. The homepage adds that the team provides responsive customer support and a dedicated customer success manager throughout the relationship. Demo bookings are free and without commitment.

Results the company cites

The homepage cites an average revenue increase of 16 percent for its customers and says SPREAD generated 45M€ of revenue for them in 2024. Named users on the site include Fnac-Darty, Moulin Roty, Mondial Tissu, Stade Toulousain, Zag Skis, the Chamonix tourist office, La Plagne Resort, Odalys Vacances and Parc Bagatelle. Customer testimonials come from marketing leads at Nature Cos, Project X Paris and Lulli sur la Toile; the Nature Cos quote praises having a CRM, email sending, automated scenarios and contests "partageant la même base et directement reliées à Prestashop" (sharing the same database and linked directly to PrestaShop).

Who it suits and who it does not

SPREAD suits French-speaking e-commerce brands and retailers that want one subscription to replace a separate email tool, a loyalty app, a contest tool and a CRM. The FAQ makes that pitch outright, saying merchants no longer need another emailing tool alongside it. Stores on Shopify, PrestaShop, Magento or WooCommerce get the native connector, and retailers running Cegid, Secutix or Orchestra at the till can join in-store and online data. Tourism operators are a named audience, with campaigns meant for visitors before, during and after their stay. Teams that want revenue tracked per campaign and SMS in the same workflow as email get both out of the box.

It is a weaker fit for a solo newsletter writer or a very small shop: the entry price of 150 euros per month buys a managed service with a customer success manager, not a self-serve tool, and there is no free plan on the pages. Developers who want an email API or an SMTP relay will not find one described. Brands that only need newsletters may pay for loyalty, referral and game modules they never use. And because the site, the editor copy and the support material are presented in French, teams working only in English will be reading a French-language product site.
