PushOwl is a Shopify app that sends web push notifications, email and SMS from one dashboard, with WhatsApp announced as coming soon. It started as a push notification app, and its email marketing page now pitches "Email Marketing for Shopify That Grows Revenue, Not Bills", adding that the email side is "Powered by Brevo". The About page says the journey began in 2016, that PushOwl was acquired by "Europe's top digital marketing platform: Brevo (formerly Sendinblue)", and that it operates "as an independent business unit which looks at the e-commerce strategy". Its main selling point for email buyers is the billing model: unlimited subscribers on every plan, including the free one, with cost tied to what you send.
What a sender actually gets
Setup. PushOwl is installed from the Shopify App Store, then connects to Brevo automatically for email delivery. The email page lays out the path: install, auto-connect to Brevo "for bulletproof email deliverability", pick a goal (recover carts, grow the list, send newsletters, launch flash sales), turn on a preset automation or template, and track revenue. It promises "From Install to ROI in an Hour" and needs no developer.
Email campaigns. Campaigns are built in a drag-and-drop editor from prebuilt, responsive templates for newsletters, flash sales, product drops, abandoned cart, welcome and order confirmation. Sends can be scheduled, triggered or sent at once, and subject lines and calls to action can be A/B tested.
Automation. A visual workflow builder runs flows with no code, and one-click recipes cover a welcome series, abandoned cart emails and checkout alerts, order confirmation and shipping updates, win-back and re-engagement flows, and cross-sell and post-purchase drips. Push flows add price drop alerts, back-in-stock reminders and browse abandonment. The FAQ says advanced automations are supported with "Branching logic, dynamic segments, conditional splits". The SMS page says push, email and SMS (and soon WhatsApp) can be orchestrated in one automation builder.
Segmentation and personalization. Segments can use purchase history, frequency, location, on-site behavior, lifetime value and average order value, with behavioral triggers such as viewing a product, adding to cart or browsing a category. Dynamic content fields personalize product recommendations and copy. The email page's summary is "Segment once, reuse everywhere."
List growth. Exit-intent popups, newsletter popups and embedded forms collect subscribers, with A/B tests on copy and design and "GDPR/CCPA-compliant consent capture". SMS subscribers come in through checkout opt-ins and popups, or by uploading a list.
Web push. The original channel. Push notifications reach shoppers in the browser for abandoned carts, price drops, back-in-stock alerts and promotions, and a Smart Delivery feature times messages. The case studies on the site are mostly push results.
SMS. SMS covers order and shipping alerts, flash sales, win-back offers and abandoned cart texts. The home page says messages go to 180+ countries, and the SMS FAQ says "190+ countries, local carrier routing, and multi-currency analytics", with coverage through Brevo's carrier network. The SMS page frames it as "Start free. Pay only for SMS credits you use."
AI. The email page lists an AI email generator for templates, AI Opt-In for building signup forms and an AI Calendar that creates and schedules campaign templates for events. The SMS page adds AI copy suggestions and a built-in AI assistant for writing texts.
Reporting. Analytics show revenue per send, per subscriber and per automation, email conversion, open and click rates, deliverability health and spam complaints, plus cohort and trend reports. The FAQ says revenue attribution is built in at campaign and automation level.
Deliverability. The FAQ describes it as "Brevo's infrastructure +our list hygiene tools", and says PushOwl guides stores through SPF and DKIM setup and warm-up if needed.
Plans and pricing
The pricing page, headed "Start free, upgrade anytime" and "PushOwl + Brevo: Web push, email, and SMS campaigns", shows three bundles, billed monthly or yearly:
- Basic bundle: $0, with 500 emails a month, up to 500 web push notifications and 0 SMS credits. It includes all email features, unlimited subscribers, campaign sending and scheduling, audience groups, price drop and back-in-stock automations, basic reports and dedicated support personnel.
- Plus bundle (recommended): $19 a month in the table's 10k tier, with 10,000 to 30,000 web push. It adds abandoned cart automation, hero image support and subscriber import and export, with 20% off on an annual plan.
- Power bundle: $79 a month in the 25k tier, with 25,000 to unlimited web push. It adds flash sale and browse abandonment flows, smart delivery, segmentation, custom automation and a custom attribution window, with 10% off on an annual plan.
The email features listed on the pricing page include customizable templates, the drag-and-drop editor, transactional emails, no daily sending limit, marketing automation, predictive sending, multi-user access, A/B testing, basic and advanced reporting, unlimited contacts, sub-account management for enterprise, tailored onboarding and personalized support. For larger brands there is a customized solution with tailored flows, through "Book a demo".
The email page sums up the model: "Pay-as-you-send tiers: Cost scales with volume sent, not list size", with "No feature locking, no 'contact overages,' no hidden extras". The home page offers a 14-Day Free Trial, free migration from an existing tool, a "Risk-Free Guarantee" and "Cancel Anytime, No Questions Asked". The migration FAQ says the team helps import lists, templates and automations and that "Most stores migrate in 24-48 hours."
Support and scale
Support is a headline feature: "Legendary live support. Real humans (with names you'll remember) have your back, 24/7." Reviews quoted on the home page praise live chat response times. The site gives different customer counts on different pages: the About page says 25,000 customers and over 25,000 Shopify stores, the pricing page 35,000+ Shopify stores, and the home page 500,000+ stores. The About page also lists 1.4B push notifications delivered and 2500+ five-star reviews, and the home page shows a 4.8 out of 5 average rating from 3,000+ Shopify reviews. Puru Govind is named as Chief Executive Officer.
Who it suits and who it does not
PushOwl suits Shopify stores that want web push, email and SMS in one inexpensive app, especially stores with a large list and a modest sending schedule, since the plans price by volume sent rather than by subscribers. A new store can run real email and push automations on the free bundle, and stores already using PushOwl for push can add email without a second vendor.
It is built only for Shopify, so stores on other platforms and senders without a store are outside its scope. Teams that need deep custom data work or a developer-first email API will find the product aimed at preset flows and one-click recipes rather than engineering control.
