Postscript

Postscript is a retention marketing platform for Shopify brands. It began as an SMS marketing tool, and its current home page describes it as "Agentic retention marketing across SMS, RCS, Email, and every channel that comes next." An earlier version of the home page carried the page title "SMS Marketing and Sales for Shopify Brands" and said "Our entire focus is on SMS, which is why Shopify stores have more success here than anywhere else." Email is the newest channel: that earlier page carried a note from the co-founders, Alex Beller, Adam Turner and Colin Turner, announcing "WE'RE LAUNCHING EMAIL", and the current page greets visitors with "Email is here". For a reader choosing an email platform, Postscript is best read as an SMS-first retention tool for online stores that now also sends email, all driven by the same AI layer.

The rebuild and what it changed

The current home page tells what it calls "The Postscript 2.0 Story". Its argument is that most retention platforms started with one channel and spent years adding more on top, "all stacked on software from 2012". Postscript says it chose to start over and build "for the AI era". The practical claims that follow are that multichannel is "Built to support multichannel from the ground up, not as an extension to an existing channel", that the company ships quickly ("We ship in weeks what legacy platforms scope in quarters"), and that the cost of sending is lower: "lower base rates, no hidden fees, no profile fees, ACP included". The last point matters when you compare quotes, because it says you are not charged per stored customer profile.

The foundation: ACP, Brand Center and Postscript AI

Everything sits on what the company calls the Agentic Context Platform, or ACP. The home page says ACP "holds all of your brand and customer context, allowing AI agents to read from it and act on it at the individual subscriber level", and that every message sent and every subscriber action across every channel "makes the whole platform smarter". It has two halves. Customer Context is described as "a complete, unified understanding of every customer", and Brand Context as "one source of truth for how your brand sounds and acts". ACP is "Included with every plan, at no extra cost."

Brand Center is the control panel for that brand context, meant "to keep every AI message on-brand". Postscript AI is the umbrella for the AI products, which the older page described as features that drive incremental revenue and surface brand insights. The platform menu also lists Compliance, Deliverability and Integrations as parts of the foundation.

Channels

SMS. The core channel. The SMS product is described as a way to "build an engaged list, create and send messages, and deliver great experiences to drive revenue". Campaigns and automations both run on it, and the older page claimed an "average 34x ROI" across campaigns and automations.

RCS. Rich Communication Services messages are sent "from a branded profile" to "drive more engagement and conversions". The page pitches it with the line "Turn your texts into an experience with RCS".

Email. The email product is described as "Everything you need to send high-performing emails, on an AI-native foundation." The pages do not yet break down the email editor, templates or automation triggers, which fits a channel that was only just launched.

Products that sit on top

Shopper is an AI shopping assistant for 1:1 conversations. The older home page called it "Your always-on 1:1 shopping assistant" that "instantly answers questions and drives sales through meaningful customer engagement", and the current page lists it as a way to "Run 1:1 agentic marketing".

Infinity Testing replaces classic A/B tests. The older page says Postscript can "test hundreds of on-brand message variants in a fraction of the time", and the current menu describes it as optimizing messages "at superhuman speed and complexity".

Onsite Opt-in is list growth that keeps shoppers on the store instead of sending them off to a text thread. The menu calls the technology patented and claims it can "Capture up to 3x more subscribers". Together with a Popup Editor and CashBack, the older page said these tools "help brands grow their list 3X faster".

CashBack is presented as "the smart coupon alternative", which the site says can drive revenue, power list growth and increase margins.

Postscript Plus is the managed option, where in-house SMS strategists create, run and optimize the SMS program for the brand. A separate Strategy page offers in-house experts who tailor strategies to grow, convert and retain a list, and Customer Service is described as a "team of ecommerce veterans and marketing experts". A Partner Directory helps brands find outside agencies.

Compliance

Compliance gets unusual weight for a messaging platform, which reflects the legal exposure of SMS marketing. The older home page headline is "The gold standard in compliance", and it says compliance "is core to our product and strategy, protecting merchants from costly lawsuits", with "deep legal expertise, strategic partnerships, and leadership within the Ecommerce Innovation Alliance". The SMS compliance product promises that "From opt-ins to delivery, Postscript ensures every SMS you send checks all the right boxes", the current page describes "Built-in guardrails and expert compliance support", and the company calls itself one of the "Compliance and regulatory leaders" with "years of advocacy work". The footer links a Data Processing Agreement and a Spam Policy.

Results the site reports

The pages lean on customer outcomes. The older home page lists a 34x return on investment on SMS spend, +22% online revenue attributed to Postscript SMS, a 50% increase in conversion rate since introducing Onsite Opt-in and a +20% average revenue lift on AI beta features. The current page adds an 82% increase in mobile conversions, a 29% lift in EPM using Infinity Testing and a 34% increase in year-over-year list growth rate. Brands shown on the site include True Classic, Thrive Causemetics and The Sak. These are the company's chosen figures from its own customers.

Pricing, trial and support

The site publishes no prices; the sales path is "Book a Demo". The older page invites stores to "install now to start your 30-day free trial", and both versions offer a Start Free Trial button. Integrations are described as "Deep integrations to connect retention marketing to the rest of your workflows", with Shopify as the store platform the site is built around. Support runs through a Help Center with documentation and a separate API Documentation section.

Who it suits and who it does not

Postscript suits Shopify brands that treat text messaging as a main revenue channel and want email, RCS and SMS run from the same customer data and AI agents, with a vendor that takes SMS compliance seriously. Stores without in-house messaging staff can hand the program to Postscript Plus strategists.

It is a poor fit for senders who want a mature, fully documented email tool today, since email is its newest channel. Stores on other ecommerce platforms, B2B senders and newsletter publishers are outside the audience the site addresses, and teams that want to write and approve every message by hand will be working against the product's AI-first design.
