PostBeagle

Tap a star to rate

PostBeagle is an email marketing and automation platform built for WooCommerce stores. A free plugin connects the store, and PostBeagle then sends campaigns and automated flows (welcome, abandoned cart, post-purchase, cross-sell, win-back) from its own sending infrastructure, with revenue reported per email. The company behind it is Beagle Software ehf., and the site footer says the product is made in Iceland. The WooCommerce page describes the service as "EU hosted, with sending on PostBeagle's own infrastructure". Billing counts only active subscribers, and there is a free plan with no credit card. The home page sums up the pitch: "Most email tools treat WooCommerce as an afterthought. PostBeagle is built around it."

How the WooCommerce connection works

The connector is PostBeagle for WooCommerce, which the FAQ describes as "a free official plugin in the WordPress.org directory". You install it, link it with an API key, and customers, orders and subscription status sync automatically, with a one-time bulk import of existing customers and order history. The WooCommerce page says a store can be connected "in about ten minutes".

A few technical details matter for store owners. The plugin supports High-Performance Order Storage (HPOS) and the WooCommerce block checkout, through the Additional Checkout Field API, and it requires WooCommerce 8.9 or newer. Data syncs after the order completes, so checkout is not slowed, and if PostBeagle cannot be reached the checkout still completes and the failure is logged. You choose what leaves the store: customer and order sync is the baseline, while abandoned cart recovery, revenue attribution and browsing tracking are each off by default and switched on separately under Settings, Data Collection. The plugin documents every endpoint it calls.

PostBeagle sends marketing email only. WooCommerce's own transactional emails, such as order confirmations and shipping notices, keep going out from WordPress as before, and the FAQ says you do not need an SMTP plugin for marketing email.

Automations built on store events

Seven store events can start an automation: welcome (checkout opt-in), first purchase, repeat purchase, a specific product purchased, abandoned cart, win-back after a period of inactivity, and browse abandonment if you enable browsing tracking. Each can also tag the customer. The WooCommerce page walks through the flows it expects a store to run:

  • Welcome when a customer opts in at checkout, with a best sellers block filled from the synced catalog.
  • Abandoned cart recovery as "a timed three-email sequence with the exact items left behind and a single-use coupon on the last step", using a link that rebuilds the cart.
  • First purchase thanks, with a review request sent later.
  • Cross-sell and replenishment triggered by the product or category bought, such as accessories for a camera or a refill reminder.
  • Repeat purchase recognition with a personal single-use code.
  • Win-back after a set number of quiet days, such as 60 or 90, with what is new and a time-limited code.
  • Browse abandonment, optional, following up on viewed products.

Ready-made welcome, cart recovery, post-purchase and win-back sequences install in one click with emails and timing included, and all flows are edited in a visual drag-and-drop automation builder with pre-built recipes and behavioral triggers. Each flow reports the orders and revenue it generated.

Building emails

The visual email builder uses drag-and-drop blocks, real-time preview and reusable templates. Two store-specific blocks stand out. Product blocks show best sellers, new arrivals, what a shopper browsed or the items left in their cart, filled from the synced catalog as the email is sent, so prices, images and stock are current; products can also be picked by hand. Coupon blocks can run in unique mode, creating a real WooCommerce coupon for each recipient at send time, restricted to that recipient's email address, usable once and expiring after the number of days you set. Expired codes are cleared off the store automatically, and a single shared code is also possible.

Other features listed on the home page include merge tags and conditional blocks for personalization, an AI subject line assistant, a media library, CSV contact import, A/B tests on subject lines, content and send times, landing pages, and popup and embedded signup forms.

Segments, reporting and deliverability

Segments use real order fields: products, categories, order count, lifetime value and days since last order, plus behavior, custom fields and engagement scoring. Lists are dynamic. Reporting covers opens, clicks, bounces and conversions in real time, with click and open heatmaps and exportable data. Revenue attribution ties each order to "the campaign that earned it, with last-touch attribution over a configurable window", and coupon redemption reporting shows codes issued, redeemed and the revenue behind them.

On the sending side, the home page lists custom domains with "White-label sending with SPF, DKIM & DMARC", automatic bounce and complaint handling that suppresses bad addresses, suppression list management, delivery confirmation and sender reputation monitoring. It advertises 99.9% uptime and a public system status page. A free domain checker needs no signup: "We read your public DNS and show you exactly what we found." For consent, the site lists "Double opt-in & consent" for "GDPR-friendly signups out of the box", and a GDPR page sits among the legal links. A full REST API is available for custom integrations and workflows.

Plans and pricing

Plans are priced by active subscribers; unsubscribes and bounces drop off the count automatically, so importing years of past customers does not raise the bill. The WooCommerce page says "every feature is on the free plan", and paid plans add sending capacity and remove PostBeagle branding.

  • Free: $0, no credit card, 2,500 subscribers and 5,000 emails a month, including visual automation, A/B testing and abandoned cart recovery.
  • Starter: from $9 a month for 1,000 subscribers up to $29 a month for 10,000, per the WooCommerce page. On the home page's slider, 2.5K subscribers shows Starter at $15 a month with 50K sends, based on 20 emails per subscriber per month.
  • Growth: $39 a month at 10K subscribers with 200K emails a month, scaling up to 50K subscribers, and listing deliverability monitoring.
  • Scale: $89 a month at 25K subscribers, scaling up to 250K subscribers, and listing a dedicated IP.
  • Enterprise: for 500,000+ subscribers, with volume pricing, a dedicated IP pool and deliverability team, a dedicated account manager, custom contracts, SLAs and invoicing, and priority onboarding and migration support.

Stores moving from another tool can import their existing audience export, and the abandoned cart and welcome flows are ready to switch on rather than rebuilt. Support is reached through a help center, documentation and a contact support page.

Who it suits and who it does not

PostBeagle suits WooCommerce stores that want email built on their own order data: abandoned cart recovery, cross-sells, per-customer coupons and revenue per flow, without paying for every past customer ever synced. The free plan is enough to connect a store and run real automations, and the ladder to 250K subscribers covers growing shops.

It is built around WooCommerce alone, so stores on other ecommerce platforms and senders without a store will not get the product's main features. The pages describe email only, so a brand that wants SMS or push in the same tool needs something else. Transactional order emails stay with WordPress.
