Webgalamb
Tap a star to rate
Webgalamb is a Hungarian newsletter and email marketing software made by CREON HEROES Zrt. (CREON HEROES Inc.), which the company page names as owner and developer of the WEBGALAMB trademark, with its registered office in Pápa. It sends newsletters and automated, event-triggered campaigns and, with an add-on module, SMS. The unusual thing about it is the licensing: it is sold as software rather than as a monthly subscription, in three editions that run in the vendor's cloud, on your own server, or in a multi-user enterprise setup. The home page says it is for webshops, beginner and advanced entrepreneurs and marketing agencies, and the site's description sums up the pitch as newsletters without a monthly fee.
Three editions
WEBGALAMB ONLINE is the turnkey cloud edition for micro and small businesses. The license is perpetual, the vendor's experts install and configure it free of charge, and it runs only on Webgalamb's dedicated newsletter-sending infrastructure. The first year costs 189,000 Ft plus 27% VAT. From the second year the fee is 99,000 Ft plus VAT a year, which covers 5 GB of expandable storage, the manufacturer's warranty and support, HTTPS and 100,000 email sending credits a year through what the site calls its award-winning mail service, with more credits for sale.
The boxed edition, DOBOZOS WEBGALAMB, is the self-hosted option: a one-off 298,000 Ft plus VAT buys a perpetual license for the version and the domain given at order. You receive the installer, the license key and an installation guide, and you install it yourself on hosting of your choice. One year of full warranty and support is included, and extending it costs 55,650 Ft plus 27% VAT a year. HTTPS is strongly recommended and sold separately, and the vendor's experts can help with installation on third-party hosting or with SMTP setup against a separate quote. There is no mandatory software subscription, and you connect a separate mail service or SMTP server as needed.
WebGalamb PRO+ is the premium edition for large companies, institutions and organizations where several staff or separate departments work in one system. It costs 1,600,000 Ft plus 27% VAT per license as a one-off fee and runs only on the WebGalamb/CREON infrastructure. It adds multiple users with advanced permission management, access and business data separated by group, load balancing with multi-threaded multiSMTP sending, group work, protection against address lists being downloaded, a blocklist function, a Hungarian and English interface, physical file attachments and custom feature development by agreement. Existing WG8+ customers have their license fee credited toward the upgrade, and the warranty extension costs 95,000 Ft plus 27% VAT a year.
The home page says all three are built on a common base of interface and core email marketing features: unlimited groups and campaigns, automated campaigns and detailed campaign statistics. The differences are licensing, installation, operation and, for PRO+, the multi-user setup. The Online and boxed editions have one user each and a Hungarian interface; only PRO+ adds English.
Building and automating campaigns
The editor lets you insert images, links, tables, documents and other content through a simple interface, and newsletters are responsive on mobile, tablet and desktop and can be shaped to your own brand. Usable newsletter templates come with the software, and premium templates are sold as an add-on. You decide which data subscribers give on your forms and which custom fields are required for each list, and lists can be imported, organized and exported to your own computer. Separate lists keep prospects, buyers, clients or the audiences of several projects and websites apart.
Automation covers timed, recurring and event-triggered emails, autoresponders after a subscription or other events, and action links that start further automations and measurements when someone clicks. Campaign variations can be tested against each other to pick the stronger version. Unsubscribe and data-change links go into each email, and the pages behind them can be adapted to the campaign. Campaign statistics show opens, clicks, campaign results and subscriber activity. A name-day module automates messages for subscribers' name days.
Integrations and developers
The site names ready-made integrations with Google Analytics, WordPress, WooCommerce, OptiMonk, Wellness Gate ClubOS and the Hungarian webshop systems Shoprenter and UNAS, and says any other system can be connected through the REST API. For developers it lists the REST API, an HTML/POST subscription endpoint, custom fields and group management through the API, fully configurable form integration, Laravel and PHP integration samples and an external SMTP infrastructure, with API documentation for versions 5 through 8+.
SMS module
The SMS module puts email and SMS in one system. It is a one-off purchase at 60,000 Ft plus VAT (76,200 Ft gross), with no maintenance or operating fee afterward, a 12-month warranty, and after that repairs at an hourly rate on quote. Messages are billed by the SMS provider: the module has BIP built in, you buy credits from BIP, and the page gives the current rate as 15 Ft per SMS, less for larger volumes. SMS can be automated and personalized like email, and the page suggests it for deadline campaigns, reminders and warnings, promoting a campaign page, scheduled messages and as a notice sent ahead of an email campaign.
Deliverability, data and support
The home page stresses local development: "Itthon fejlesztjük. Itthon tároljuk." (We develop it here at home. We store it here at home.) It promises Hungarian development with a domestic data center and GDPR-safe email databases, and says Webgalamb is not a general foreign platform with translated menus. The vendor sells email list validation, an audit for senders with delivery problems, full operation, Webgalamb hosting and HTTPS encryption as services, and support packages from continuous SUPP+ cooperation to one-off interventions.
Sales can be reached by phone Monday to Thursday 09:00-16:00 and Friday 09:00-14:00, while technical support and product support are given only by email. Free Hungarian training material includes an online manual, context-sensitive help and video tutorials, alongside a knowledge base, an FAQ and a blog. The home page offers a "7 napos ingyenes próba" (a seven-day free trial) with every function and no purchase obligation, and a free demo account can be requested. The home page cites more than 500 named recommendations from Hungarian executives and marketers.
Who it suits
Webgalamb fits Hungarian small businesses, webshops and agencies that would rather pay for a license than a monthly fee, and it gives a clear choice between a hosted setup with 100,000 yearly credits and a self-hosted install sending through your own SMTP. Larger organizations and institutions that need several users with permissions get PRO+. Hungarian shops on Shoprenter, UNAS or WooCommerce find ready connectors.
It suits teams outside Hungary less well, since the Online and boxed editions have a Hungarian interface only and support is in Hungarian. Senders who expect to mail more than 100,000 emails a year on the Online edition should budget for extra credits.
