What Unisender is
Unisender is a Russian email marketing service for mass campaigns, automated trigger emails and transactional messages, with SMS, chatbots in Telegram and MAX, signup forms and landing pages in the same account. Its about page calls it a Russian omnichannel marketing automation platform whose ecosystem combines email, SMS, messengers, chatbots and AI tools. The company says it has more than 870,000 clients, sends 1.5 billion emails a month and has been on the market for 17 years. Its history section starts in 2008, when two friends built a simple email service called MailHelper, renamed Unisender in 2009. The contact page gives an office address in Moscow.
The features page says email suits online stores, service businesses, B2B companies, travel agencies, online education, SaaS and independent authors, and the home page frames the product around turning an existing customer base into repeat sales.
Building and sending email
Messages are built in a block editor that needs no HTML or CSS: a sender drags ready blocks, drops in content, and starts from scratch or from a template. The features page mentions 100+ templates, while the plan comparison speaks of 200+ ready templates for different occasions and industries. Templates and finished emails are responsive, and images can be stored in the account for later campaigns. An AI assistant sits in the block editor; the home page says it helps with illustrations and texts, and the about page dates its launch to the 2021-2024 period.
The tools around a campaign are detailed:
- personalization with substitution fields, product recommendations and sending when the audience is most active
- segmentation by gender, age, activity, interests or job title, and on the home page by actions and interests
- a scheduler for any date within 4 months ahead, with a time zone setting
- a resend to non-openers with a new subject line
- A/B tests
- pre-send checks for spam content, subject line quality and email weight (the table notes that Gmail clips an email over 102 kB)
- an email validator that removes inactive contacts
- a custom sending domain, which Unisender helps set up
- an unsubscribe page that asks for a reason and offers other channels
Reports show opens, clicks, unsubscribes, subscriber behavior by day, a click map and delivery errors per address, and data can be passed to Google Analytics and Yandex Metrica. The home page FAQ says each campaign report shows how many emails were delivered and opened and how many people clicked.
Automation and other channels
Trigger emails welcome new subscribers, win back old ones, recommend products, thank buyers or invite people to events, and run on their own once set up. Autoresponders react to actions on a website, and email chains cover welcome series and reactivation series for inactive customers. Transactional mail runs through integrations with a CRM or CMS for order status, charges or restocked items, built in the same block editor.
Omnichannel scenarios join email and chatbots in a visual editor: the about page gives the example of continuing the conversation in MAX or Telegram when a customer has not opened an email. Unisender dates omnichannel automation to 2025 and the addition of MAX to 2026. The chatbot builder needs no code and runs bots in Telegram and MAX. SMS complements email for promotions and service messages, with personalization by name, city or promo code; the anti-spam policy says SMS is available only to legal entities and sole proprietors after the sender name is registered.
Signup forms come in static and pop-up versions tied to Unisender lists. The landing page builder, launched in 2021 according to the history section, offers block building, templates, contact forms and online payments, and the about page invites users to create a landing page for free.
For developers there are two routes. The API documentation says the Unisender API connects email functions to any open web service or desktop application. Unisender Go is a separate product for sending through SMTP or API, aimed at a product's service emails such as receipts, order confirmations and password resets; with Go you pay only for transport and handle design and analytics on your own side. The integrations page lists more than 50 ready integrations with popular services, a no-code integration builder, integration templates, a course on integrations and an implementation service.
Plans and prices
The pricing FAQ describes two kinds of plan: by list size (Free, Lite, Standard and Personal) and by number of emails (the package plan called Optom). Prices are in rubles, with Belarusian rubles as a second currency, and the annual option is marked -30%.
- Free: 0 ₽ forever, up to 1500 emails a month to up to 100 contacts, with basic email tools. Every new account starts on it.
- Lite: from 672 ₽ a month when paid annually, per the home page. Unlimited emails, contact tiers from 500 to 500 000, and the full set of campaign tools.
- Standard (recommended): from 952 ₽ a month when paid annually, with contact tiers up to 1 000 000 and beyond. The FAQ says it adds chatbots and personal recommendations to Lite. It also carries partner bonuses: up to 10 000 ₽ for a first VK Ads launch and a Premium subscription offer, plus a 500 ₽ credit on the NeuroGate AI aggregator.
- Personal: from 30 000 ₽, with full management of the email channel by Unisender's experts after a diagnostic request.
- Optom: a package of emails bought for a month or a year and used at your own pace, with no cap on addresses. Packages run from 5 000 to 10 000 000 emails.
Chatbots come as a free trial period on Free and Lite and without limits on Standard. Senders with lists of 1 000 000 contacts or more get special conditions. An upgrade is possible at any time, with unused days credited. Payment is by bank transfer or card, and closing documents arrive in the account.
Deliverability rules and services
The anti-spam policy is strict. It requires consent for every message, lists commercial emails to recipients who did not pass double opt-in among restricted practices, and asks senders to use their main official domain with SPF, DKIM and DMARC records. Role addresses such as info@ or sales@ and disposable addresses may not be uploaded. A complaint rate above 0.5% of sent messages can lead to restricted access, and spam complaints are reviewed within 48 hours. The home page adds that Unisender watches sending reputation and flags suspicious campaigns.
Paid help covers DKIM, DMARC and SPF setup, importing and validating a list from another service, a custom template, segmentation, a first campaign, analytics setup and training. Unisender's agency takes one-off projects or runs the channel on an ongoing basis.
Data, support and company
The home page FAQ says Unisender is a Russian company that stores all data in Russia, and lists it in the registry of personal data operators and the domestic software registry. The about page says its servers are in Russia with direct connections to local mailbox providers, that it is an accredited IT company and a Skolkovo resident since 2022, and that contact lists and content remain the customer's property and are never passed to third parties.
Support by chat and email runs 24/7, and the plan table adds phone. Phone numbers are listed for Russia and Belarus, with sales on weekdays from 9:00 to 18:00. The School of email marketing says it has trained 2000+ specialists in 6 years, alongside the Konvert magazine, a knowledge base, webinars and a Unisender Pro club. The pricing page cites an online school that raised email's share of revenue from 3 to 27%.
Who it suits
Unisender suits Russian-speaking businesses that want email as the main channel with SMS and Telegram or MAX bots beside it: online stores, online schools, B2B firms and SaaS teams. The free tier covers a small list, Optom packages fit irregular senders, Personal fits teams that want Unisender's experts to run the channel, and Unisender Go serves developers. Data held in Russia makes it a natural fit for Russian companies; the product pages are in Russian.
