Svenska eBrev

Tap a star to rate

Svenska eBrev is a Swedish newsletter service: an online tool for designing newsletters, sending them to your own subscriber lists and following up with statistics. The homepage describes it as "Ett lättanvänt verktyg för att skicka snygga, inspirerande och engagerande nyhetsbrev" (an easy-to-use tool for sending attractive, inspiring and engaging newsletters), and the pricing page opens with the idea behind it: communicating with customers should be simple, so the company built a newsletter tool that is affordable and saves time. It is aimed at companies that want to reach customers, prospects and other stakeholders by email, and the site lists the jobs a newsletter can do: invitations and news, tailored campaigns, important information, education and guidance, and better customer service. The site is in Swedish with an English version, and the phone number 010 - 490 37 60 sits at the top of every page next to the support and contact links.

How it works

The homepage lays the service out in three steps. First you collect your subscribers' email addresses and import them into Svenska eBrev's database, organize your customers into the categories you want, and build lists for upcoming mailings. Second you design and send the newsletter. Every new customer receives a unique template designed after the company's own graphic identity, and you can also design your own newsletters in the tool, using ready-made boxes to import images and edit text before sending straight to your audience. Third you follow up: the statistics show how many subscribers opened the newsletter, how many clicked through to your website, and how many chose to unsubscribe.

The service is flexible about who does the work. The homepage says you can use ready-made templates, design your own, or "låta oss göra jobbet åt dig" (let us do the job for you), so a business without time or design skills can hand the newsletter over to the company rather than build it in-house.

The editor and images

The editor is a visual editing mode in which you drop in images and text quickly and create links to your website. Image handling is built in: you can resize, crop and rotate pictures and apply different filters without another program. Every image is saved in an archive, so you can bring it back later; the page's example is pulling out last year's pictures for the next big holiday.

Lists, signups and unsubscribes

Svenska eBrev lets you create separate send lists so the right offers and information reach the right audience, and it describes targeted mailings as the way to win more business. Visitors can sign up for your mailings directly on your website. One customer on the homepage, Jones Preventive, says the service makes it easy to create and combine email lists by subscriber category and to follow up with statistics on how many newsletters were opened.

Unsubscribing is handled for you. Each newsletter carries a built-in unsubscribe link, and when a recipient unsubscribes the address is deleted automatically from future mailings. The pricing page frames this as a legal point, "Följ dataskyddslagen för nyhetsbrev och slipp klagomål" (follow data protection law for newsletters and avoid complaints), adding that unsubscribing should be exactly as easy as signing up. The main menu also carries a separate page on GDPR and newsletters.

Sending and statistics

All newsletters go out through Svenska eBrev's own servers "med garanterad driftsäkerhet" (with guaranteed operational reliability), so your own server carries none of the load. The company says the program is built to handle both small and large volumes. The statistics show how many recipients received and read each mailing and how many clicked the links to go on to your website, which the page calls invaluable for following up and learning what recipients find interesting. Unsubscribes are counted as well.

Prices

The pricing page, "Välj det upplägg som passar din verksamhet bäst" (choose the setup that suits your business best), sets the monthly price by the number of recipients, and every tier lists mail per month as "Obegränsat" (unlimited):

  • Up to 100 recipients: 49 kronor a month
  • Up to 250: 99 kronor
  • Up to 500: 169 kronor
  • Up to 1,000: 229 kronor
  • Up to 2,500: 299 kronor
  • Up to 5,000: 429 kronor
  • Up to 10,000: 599 kronor
  • Up to 20,000: 799 kronor
  • Up to 30,000: 999 kronor

The page prints the prices in the Swedish style, 49:- to 999:-. Next to the table, the marketing copy says "Betala bara för den volym som du använder" (pay only for the volume you use) and that the price follows the number of mailings you make. The table's two buttons are "Kom igång" (get started) and "Boka gratis demo" (book a free demo), and the homepage offers the same free demo.

Customers and resources

The homepage shows a selection of customers and four short testimonials. Thovo uses newsletters to keep customers updated on new products and services, Acape Laser praises the company's service and quick feedback, Lyckåsen Interiör uses the tool to tell its whole audience about events and offers in more detail, and Jones Preventive values the list handling and statistics. A blog offers practical tips, including four simple ways to raise open rates, ways to collect email addresses (from signup forms on your site and paid ads to simply asking around), and advice on getting recipients to open and read a newsletter. There is a FAQ on sending newsletters, a references page, and a newsletter of the company's own with tips on strategy, messaging, layout and design.

Who it suits

Svenska eBrev suits a Swedish company or organization that wants to send a regular newsletter without learning a large marketing system: a local shop announcing new products, an interior store promoting events and offers, a clinic keeping patients informed, or an association mailing its members. Because each tier includes unlimited mailings, an organization that sends often pays the same monthly price as one that sends rarely, and a list of up to 500 recipients costs 169 kronor a month. The custom template for every new customer and the option to have the company do the work make it a good match for teams without an in-house designer. The site is built around newsletters, lists and statistics, so senders looking for multi-step automation or developer tools will find its focus is the regular mailing rather than those.
