SPIRAL is the email delivery and newsletter system of SPIRAL Inc. (スパイラル株式会社), a Japanese company whose main product is SPIRAL®, a low-code platform for building web applications. The email system runs on that platform and sends newsletters, campaign announcements, step mail sequences and One to One messages for companies, schools and public bodies. The product page promises "SPIRAL®で、メール配信を確実に。高い到達率と送り放題で、成果を最大化。" (reliable email delivery with SPIRAL: maximize results with a high delivery rate and unlimited sending). It states that SPIRAL® has been adopted by more than 14,000 companies in total, and it names finance, manufacturing, retail, schools, food service and government as the sectors using the email system. Everything on the site is in Japanese.
Creating and sending email
The product page describes an interface built for non-specialists: text and HTML emails are created on a single screen, and if you only need to change settings, a message takes about three minutes. HTML and plain-text mail are both supported, including multipart messages that show HTML or text depending on the recipient's environment. Merge fields insert registered details such as a person's name or company into the subject and body, which is how the site's One to One mail works: each recipient's name and sender can be set individually.
The company says the email system carries more than 100 features as standard, from basic bulk sending to segmented delivery, step mail and click counting. Segmented delivery picks recipients by conditions such as age, gender and behavior history. Step mail sends a series of emails automatically after a set number of days and at a set time, so a sequence runs without repeated manual sends.
Lists can be imported in bulk by uploading TSV or TXT files, by copying and pasting from Excel, or by selecting a file from a file transfer service, with checks for duplicate records and format errors. Up to three administrator IDs with access to every feature come as standard, and additional IDs are available for an option fee.
Reporting measures open and click rates, and it shows who clicked which URL and when, in real time, so the data can feed the next send or a sales follow-up. The FAQ adds that SPIRAL supports A/B tests, and because the platform also builds web forms, it can measure how many sign-ups or applications a campaign email produced.
Delivery speed and deliverability
Speed is the headline figure. A dedicated delivery engine, tuned for each mobile carrier, sends up to 2.6 million emails an hour ("毎時260万通の高速配信"), and the page says the system has a track record on a newsletter member site of 10 million members. Tuning for each receiving environment lets it deliver to mobile carrier addresses as well as Gmail and Yahoo mail.
The page addresses Google's email sender guidelines directly. It explains that since February 2024 anyone sending more than 5,000 emails a day to Gmail accounts must use SPF, DKIM and DMARC authentication, and that SPIRAL supports these technologies and guides customers through the settings. Delivery errors are analyzed by count and cause, permanently failing addresses are excluded automatically, a blacklist keeps chosen addresses out of every send, and unsubscribe requests made from the link in an email are processed automatically.
Forms, member sites and other channels
Because SPIRAL is a data platform first, email connects to other tools on the same customer database. Web forms handle member registration, document requests and similar sign-ups and can collect up to 150 fields per member; combined with step mail, they can automate replies to inquiries. Member management covers storing, searching and editing member records and includes a MyPage member site builder as standard, where survey and bulletin board features can be combined freely. The page says the system can also link with WordPress and other CMS platforms.
SMS and LINE are handled through integrations: SMS sending services and LINE delivery can use the customer information and behavior history stored in SPIRAL. An API connects SPIRAL to CRM and other core systems and to other marketing tools, so data can be exported to outside systems and email can be sent from them. The platform itself supports PHP and APIs for deeper customization.
Pricing
SPIRAL publishes starting prices. The model is flat-rate and send-unlimited: "何人で使っても、何回・何通送っても定額、送り放題!" (a flat rate with unlimited sending, however many people use it and however many emails you send). The monthly fee is based on the number of recipients, meaning newsletter members, and starts at 50,000 yen a month. The initial fee is quoted per customer and starts at 100,000 yen. Prices vary with the number of recipients and the scope of customization but never with the number of sends; the page notes that monthly fees tend to rise with the recipient count and that using only standard features keeps the initial fee down. The FAQ says a free trial is available, and after sign-up the login details arrive by email and the system is used in a browser through a dedicated URL.
Onboarding and support
Buying runs through sales. You contact the company through its form or by phone on weekdays from 9:00 to 18:00, a hearing covers your current email problems, sending volume and needed features, and the company then proposes a plan and shows the real admin screen in a demo before the contract. After the account is issued, the company helps with initial setup. Ongoing help comes from the "ユーザーズデスク" (Users Desk), which takes questions from how to use a feature to campaign planning by phone, screen sharing and web form. The service menu lists platform support and paid support separately.
Track record and compliance
The case studies include the Kyoto Shimbun newspaper, which semi-automated its newsletter in three months, Nikkei CNBC, which grew its newsletter membership 1.6 times, and SBI Sumishin Net Bank, which linked SPIRAL to its EBM system and eliminated work that used to take 108 hours a month. The platform page says more than 200 financial institutions use SPIRAL. On security, the company's news page reports that SPIRAL ver.1 was registered in ISMAP, Japan's security evaluation system for government information systems, in July 2026.
Who it suits
SPIRAL suits Japanese organizations of some size that send to large member lists and want predictable costs: banks, publishers, schools, manufacturers and public bodies that mail often and would rather pay by list size than by send. The step mail, forms and member site tools make it a fit where email is part of a wider customer data system, and the API and PHP customization suit teams that need to connect it to in-house systems. Small teams should note the starting costs of 100,000 yen up front and 50,000 yen a month, and the whole service, from interface to support, is in Japanese.
