What Sendmachine is
Sendmachine calls itself a "Platformă 100% Românească de Email Marketing", a 100% Romanian email marketing platform, and its footer names the operating company as SENDMACHINE S.R.L. in Targu Mures, Romania. One account covers two products: Sendmachine Email, for newsletters, campaigns and transactional messages, and Sendmachine SMS, for text campaigns, notifications, reminders, alerts and one-time passwords. The homepage says the service has run "Din 2012" (since 2012) and that more than 8,500 businesses trust it. New accounts get 15,000 free emails a month for their first six months, and SMS can be tested with 5 free messages.
Email campaigns
The homepage promises campaigns "care ajung în Inbox, nu în Spam" (that reach the inbox, not spam), built in a drag-and-drop editor with automations, and cites a 98% average inbox delivery rate. A campaign is created from the Campaigns menu in the control panel, and statistics are available both across all campaigns and for each individual send. The FAQ says the service can be used for bulk newsletter mailings and for transactional messages such as website orders and messages sent from a site. Customers who want to send campaigns from their own application find the connection details in an SMTP settings menu.
Contact lists are created in the panel: addresses can be pasted one per line or imported from a CSV or tab-delimited file. Custom fields hold extra details such as a contact's name or company, and the FAQ says 1 to 5 can be added depending on the newsletter package. Contacts unsubscribe through the link in each message, or a list owner can unsubscribe them manually from the Contacts menu.
Sending addresses must be on the customer's own domain. The FAQ says addresses at services such as Gmail, Yahoo or Hotmail cannot be used as senders, and each new sending address has to be confirmed through a link before it appears in the campaign menu. After sign-up and email confirmation, an operator activates each account manually and the customer gets an email when that is done. Customers with an active package can order more credits from the account menu, where order history, pro forma invoices, fiscal invoices and billing details are also managed.
SMS
On the SMS page Sendmachine describes itself as "un furnizor de SMS din Romania" (an SMS provider from Romania) offering one platform for SMS campaigns, notifications, reminders, alerts, OTP codes and scheduled messages. OTP codes can be generated for login, transaction confirmation or identity checks, and messages can be triggered by events in the customer's own system. List tools cover contact import, message personalization, subscribe and unsubscribe management, filtering of invalid numbers and removal of duplicates. A Multiple User feature spreads SMS work across a team with different permissions per person, and the SMS editor offers instant preview and variables (macros) such as [[NUME]] that fill in each recipient's data.
Existing email lists can be reused for SMS as long as they contain a phone number field. Campaigns can be scheduled days, weeks or months ahead, but under ANCOM rules, the SMS FAQ explains, commercial texts cannot go out before 09:00 or after 20:00; order confirmations, security alerts, emergency notices and authentication codes are the exceptions. The FAQ says 90% of messages arrive in under 10 seconds and that delivery status shows in real time for each message. Statistics count messages sent, delivered and failed, plus clicks on links. A standard SMS holds up to 160 characters without Romanian diacritics or emoji, and a longer message is split into segments of at most 153 characters, each charged as one SMS. The SMS page lists sending to Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, the Czech Republic, France, Germany, Greece, Italy, the Republic of Moldova, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Spain and the United Kingdom.
API, plugins and integrations
Using the API starts with an API key, which is given a name, a set of scopes it may access and, optionally, an expiry date. Through the SMS API a system can send texts, check delivery status, check the credit balance and manage contact lists, and every SMS package includes webhook notifications. The resources section lists a WordPress plugin that sends SMS straight from a site, a PrestaShop extension, integration documentation and a GitHub presence. In a testimonial, Contazen says it built Sendmachine into its product from the start and sends all of its emails through it. Public-sector buyers can purchase the service through SEAP/SICAP, the electronic public procurement system.
Plans and prices
For email, the homepage offers 15,000 free emails a month in the first six months, with "Anulează oricând" (cancel anytime) and no bank card or commitment required. Paid packages are chosen once a list grows, and the homepage advertises a "12 + 1 gratuit" offer and a 20% discount for NGOs. Email package prices sit on the separate pricing page.
SMS pricing is set out in euro, before VAT:
- Welcome, 0 euro: 5 free SMS to test the service
- Start SMS, 17.50 euro: 5,000 credits, or 500 SMS at 0.035 euro each, with 5 additional fields
- Next SMS, 51 euro: 15,000 credits, or 1,500 SMS at 0.034 euro each, with 8 additional fields
- Pro SMS, 465 euro: 150,000 credits, or 15,000 SMS at 0.031 euro each, with 10 additional fields
- Custom: a price per SMS that varies with volume
Every package includes SMS campaigns, an unlimited number of lists, detailed statistics, API integration, custom fields, webhook notifications and segmentation. A national SMS within Romania uses 10 credits, and other destinations use a number of credits that depends on the country. Credits are valid for 12 months from purchase, after which unused credit is lost. The SMS FAQ says email and SMS share one account but are billed separately, "deoarece au costuri diferite de operare" (because they have different operating costs), and that the full SMS service requires a signed service contract. Payment is by card (Visa, Mastercard, Maestro) or by bank transfer against a pro forma invoice, and invoices are issued automatically after each payment.
Rules, privacy and support
The anti-spam policy is strict. Recipients must have given explicit consent, and bought, rented or harvested lists are banned. The policy requires double opt-in for every new subscriber, with a confirmation message that carries no promotion, and list owners must handle unsubscribe requests promptly and politely. Contacts the customer has not interacted with in the last 2 years cannot be mailed without fresh consent, and lists must be stable and continuously managed rather than built for a single send and then swapped out. Sendmachine says it may pause email sending above 0.25% spam complaints or 3% bounces, and SMS sending above 3% undelivered messages. On privacy, the policy commits the provider to treat communications and data on the platform with strict confidentiality, the footer links to a GDPR page, and the SMS FAQ lists GDPR-compliant ways to collect phone numbers, such as an opt-in box at checkout.
Support is by email, and the homepage testimonials repeatedly single out fast, friendly help from real people.
Who it suits
Sendmachine suits Romanian businesses that want newsletters and SMS in one account, local support and invoicing, and public bodies that buy through SEAP/SICAP. NGOs get a 20% discount, and testimonials from associations and from a charity that raises donations through its newsletters show how nonprofits use it. Agencies send for many clients, and developers get SMTP for application mail and an SMS API with OTP codes and webhooks. The trade-offs are practical: email and SMS are paid for separately, accounts are activated by hand, senders need their own domain, and commercial SMS must stay within the 09:00 to 20:00 window.
