What Sendethic is
Sendethic is a French marketing platform that sends email campaigns, transactional email over SMTP and SMS from one account, with marketing automation, a contact database and a responsive editor for emails and landing pages. Its homepage calls it "la solution marketing éthique et performante" (the ethical, high-performance marketing solution) and describes the company as an "entreprise française avec la sécurité au coeur de notre ADN en pleine conformité avec le RGPD", a French business with security at the heart of its DNA and in full compliance with the GDPR. The site says the company has been active since 2006. Its references are mostly French institutions and brands: the homepage names the Vendée Globe, Gallimard, Groupe Up, Aftral, the CFDT, the Philharmonie de Paris, the Ministère de la Culture and the Assemblée Nationale as customers.
What a sender gets
The site groups the product into six areas: email and SMS routing, marketing automation, contact database management, a responsive editor, forms and surveys, and an API with connectors and webhooks. The homepage sums it up as "La solution unifiée Email Marketing, SMTP et SMS", one tool for marketing email, SMTP relay and text messages.
Campaigns are designed in what the site calls "L'Editeur emailing & landing page", a single responsive editor for both newsletters and landing pages. The site also offers a collection of email templates designed by art directors and a downloadable inspiration guide for responsive emails. The contact database is presented under "Centralisez votre base" (centralize your database), with consolidation, scoring and segmentation, and automation under "Automatisez vos cycles" with "Collecte loyale et scénarisation", fair data collection and scenario building. Forms and surveys feed that database. To connect other systems, the homepage says the platform synchronizes with a company's information system "via API, connecteurs ou batch".
Testimonials on the homepage show how customers use it. The Ministère de la Culture says the tool helped it harmonize its email communications and newsletters, and that the team supported it through setup. UCAR says it deployed Sendethic across its franchise network in less than 2 months. Henner uses it both for creating and managing email campaigns and for more technical projects. SOS Villages d'Enfants runs its email campaigns and its marketing automation on it, and the founder of Sphère Santé says the company has worked with Sendethic for nearly 10 years.
Transactional email over SMTP
The transactional side is documented in the most detail. Content is generated in the customer's own website, ecommerce back office, CRM or any other information system (order status, invoices, new passwords, shipment tracking, payment confirmations) and handed to Sendethic over SMTP. Sendethic's servers deliver it and track performance, and marketing and transactional sending can coexist in the same account.
Mail from several internal systems and websites can be gathered in one tool, with settings per sending domain:
- time windows during which a domain's sends are held and throttled, for example at night or over the weekend
- a common header and footer to unify branding or add notices, advertising or event announcements
- security settings on top of the standard authentication, notably by IP
- real-time performance tracking, plus tracking by email group, with groups built from criteria such as the sending address, the subject or the x-sender
- editable suppression lists and a recipient search for handling individual requests
- optional synchronization with the contact database for later consolidation
Beyond plain relay, the page says the application tracks addresses in error and unsubscribes and lets a user set handling rules for them "sans aucune compétence en postmastering" (without any postmaster skills). Links in outgoing mail can be tagged automatically for Google Analytics and Xiti. Webhooks with a full URL syntax push hard bounces, soft bounces, deliveries, unsubscribes, opens and clicks back to the customer's systems in real time, and statistics are gathered in a summary view. The compatibility list names Drupal, Joomla, Magento, Outlook, PrestaShop, Sugar CRM, Thunderbird and WordPress, with integration guides for PHP and Node.js.
SMS
SMS campaigns run beside email, and the SMS page presents them as a complement to email campaigns. It says Sendethic offers its SMS features "à un coût très compétitif" (at a very competitive cost), lets users import contacts, write personalized messages quickly and schedule the day and time of each send, and produces statistical reports that are kept up to date. Messages go out through Sendethic's routing platform in collaboration with the mobile operators' networks. The page cites an open rate "compris entre 90 et 95%" (between 90 and 95%) for SMS and says the tool needs no training, with screenshots and demos available around the clock to guide users through the three steps of building a campaign. Companies that prefer not to run SMS themselves can delegate their campaigns to the Sendethic team.
Pricing and the discovery offer
The homepage says all features are included ("Toutes les fonctionnalites incluses") and describes the pricing as "Tarification à la consommation en fonction de vos finalités", pay-per-use according to what the account is used for. The services menu splits this into all-inclusive rates, sending credits and storage, alongside paid support packages.
The free "Offre Découverte" (discovery offer) gives an account 100 marketing emails, 100 transactional SMTP emails, 10 SMS and 500 MB of data storage free each month, together with the marketing automation features. The homepage presents it as a way to test the solution, and sign-up is immediate. It is small, but it renews monthly rather than expiring, so a team can wire up its SMTP integration and try automation with real sends before buying credits.
Company, hosting and compliance
Under the heading "Fabriquer en France" (made in France), the homepage explains that for a cloud software publisher, making something means designing, developing and hosting the servers in France. It also says the company has kept its doors closed to spammers since 2006 and works to teach the market sound sending practice, and that it is conscious of the environmental impact of digital activity, email included. The resources include a white paper on the GDPR and personal data protection, a marketing automation guide, a specification template for choosing a marketing platform, a deliverability memento and a book on email marketing, newsletters, smart data, SMS and social networks in its second edition. The About menu links to pages on security, the anti-spam policy, the company's commitments and its labels and partners.
A news item on the homepage reports an open rate of more than 55% and the Cas d'Or du Service Public Numérique award, in the services marketing category, for a project with Business France. On ownership, the footer links to an announcement titled "Sellsy acquiert Sendethic" (Sellsy acquires Sendethic), and a banner across the site announces "Sendethic x TeamSystem", described as a new step in the continuity of the company's history.
Support and services
The homepage lists three forms of help: support workshops, remote experts and French-language support. Training is part of the offer, and CGA Picpus says in a testimonial that Sendethic trained fifty participants over three days with teaching adapted to very different audiences. Webinars, video tutorials and a help center are in the resources menu, a phone line and a contact form are listed for inquiries, and agencies, list owners, IT service firms and software publishers can join a partner program.
Who it suits
Sendethic suits French organizations that want one supplier for newsletters, automation, application email and SMS, with servers in France and support in French. Public bodies, cultural institutions, associations and franchise networks all appear among its references. Developers get SMTP relay with per-domain throttling, suppression lists and webhooks, and marketing teams get the editor, database and automation in the same account, with workshops and remote experts for teams that want guided setup. The discovery offer makes it cheap to test. The site, its guides and its support are in French, so the platform is aimed first at French-speaking teams.
