What MarketingPlatform is

MarketingPlatform is an email marketing, marketing automation and customer data platform run by MarketingPlatform ApS in Kolding, Denmark. It sends newsletters and email campaigns, automated flows and SMS from one account, and it presents itself as a tool for companies that want those channels, plus web, app and social media, handled in one place. The home page says MarketingPlatform "is part of the LINK Mobility Group, a publicly listed Norwegian company", and it calls the company "a safe choice as your next GDPR compliant supplier." The customer quotes on the same page come from Danish businesses such as a hotel, a web shop and a gallery, and more than one of them says the Danish support was the reason for choosing it. That sets the frame: this is a Danish platform with Danish-speaking support, sold to companies that send regular newsletters and want automation and SMS around them.

Building and sending campaigns

Campaigns are built in the Campaign Builder, the platform's drag-and-drop editor. The site says there is "no need to be able to read and understand programming codes", and that newsletters will look right on PC, Mac, tablet or smartphone. Dynamic content is built into the same Builder: you set up several variations of one campaign, and each recipient gets the version that matches their interests or past behavior. The company describes this as a form of segmentation inside a single send, and it can be combined with feeds.

Every customer gets access to what the SMS page calls "over 2 million professional images and approximately 200,000 icons", built into the Builder, categorized and searchable, so a campaign can be illustrated without a separate stock library.

Split testing lets you send two or three versions (the page asks "campaign A, B or C?") to a sample of a list or segment, pick a success criterion, and have the winning version sent to the rest of the recipients automatically. Social sharing is supported too: recipients can post a newsletter to their own social profile, and a sender can link the account to the company's Facebook or Twitter profile.

Feeds and product content

The Feeds function fills emails automatically with content from outside the platform: your website or web shop, Facebook, Instagram, a financial system or another feed. The system reads RSS, XML, Facebook and Instagram feeds and places the items in the campaign in the company's own design. For a shop or a publisher this is the piece that turns a weekly newsletter into something that assembles itself from the latest products or articles.

Rules can also insert products per recipient. The site's example is sending dog food emails to dog owners, or using past purchase data for recommendations that match what a customer bought before. On top of the rules, the home page describes an AI layer that combines purchase data, the customer's activity on your website or web shop and results from earlier campaigns, then decides which products and offers suit each recipient.

Automation with FlowBuilder

Marketing automation runs in FlowBuilder. Flows can react to whether someone opened an email, clicked a particular link, signed up, unsubscribed, or whether an associated feed changed. SMS can sit inside the same flows as email, and the SMS page mentions App and Social Media as further channels a flow can include. Its example is an SMS sent when a customer triggers a set condition, such as being inactive for 60 days, with dynamic content that addresses the customer by name and shows only offers matching earlier purchases. The omnichannel section adds scenarios like an SMS when a workshop has finished with a customer's car, or inactive customers being moved into a Facebook remarketing campaign.

Forms, contacts and the customer data platform

Forms for sign-up, unsubscribe and profile updates are built with drag-and-drop: you choose the fields and the page a new contact sees after submitting, then place the form on your website or web shop without coding.

The built-in Customer Data Platform (CDP) gathers customer data in one place so you can cross-reference purchase history, lead scoring, visited pages, BI-enriched data and other transactional data. It can also pull from CRM, POS and ERP systems, along with basics such as date of birth, affiliated store or seller. The stated purpose is segmentation, for example targeting future campaigns at the most mature buyers.

SMS on the same platform

SMS is a full channel rather than an add-on. The SMS editor personalizes messages by merging data from contact fields, and recipients can unsubscribe with a single click. The SMS page claims that "up to 95% of all SMS messages are read within 5 minutes", and positions SMS for time-sensitive offers, notifications, "recovery" when an email was not opened, and reactivating dormant customers. Its examples include a store chain following a newsletter with an SMS based on what the customer clicked, a carrier sending track-and-trace messages, and a B2B company sending a recovery SMS when the newsletter does not land.

The mail2SMS feature lets your other systems send SMS through MarketingPlatform, for booking confirmations, notices that a take-away order is ready, or utility alerts. The site says ERP, CMS, CRM, web shop or any other system can be connected this way.

Integrations and API

The integrations named on the home page are Shopify, Zapier, WooCommerce, DanDomain, Drupal, Dynamicweb, E-conomics, Joomla, Magento, Microsoft CRM, Navision, PrestaShop, Wannafind, ScanNet, SmartWeb and WordPress. Several of these (DanDomain, Wannafind, ScanNet, SmartWeb, E-conomics) are Danish shop and accounting systems, which fits the customer base. The page says an integration "automatically transfers data between the systems either one-way or two-way." The resources menu points to an API and SDK section, a wiki, webinars and a template section for anyone connecting their own systems.

Deliverability policy

The SMS page sets a sending policy rather than publishing figures: the company says it makes demands on which customers may broadcast through MarketingPlatform, and spammers or senders with purchased lists are not welcome. The stated reason is protecting inbox delivery for everyone else on the platform.

Plans, trial and support

The navigation carries a Pricing section and an "All subscriptions" page, but the home and SMS marketing pages quote no plan prices, so budget figures have to come from the company. What the site does state is a free trial: "The trial period is free, completely non-binding and expires after 14 days if you do not wish to continue." Trial users also get an educational series of emails and the company newsletter. You can request a trial or book a demo.

Onboarding is hands-on. The home page says the customer success and support team helps "with everything from data migration to the setting up of templates", sets up automation flows and integrations where needed, and then follows with "free one-on-one training". One customer quote praises that "the Danish support is only one phone call away", and the company publishes a Danish phone line with its Kolding address. The footer links to GDPR, compliance and data processing agreement pages. The SMS page adds that new features are developed every month by a development team in regular dialogue with users.

Who it suits

MarketingPlatform fits Danish and Nordic companies that want email, SMS and automation from one Danish supplier with support in their language: web shops on Shopify, WooCommerce, Magento, PrestaShop or the Danish shop systems it names, retail chains and hotels sending weekly newsletters, and service businesses that also need SMS confirmations and alerts from their own systems through mail2SMS. The onboarding help, from data migration to one-on-one training, suits a marketing team without technical staff. A solo newsletter writer or a developer looking for a self-serve sending API with public pricing is a weaker match, because the offer is built around demos, trials and guided setup, and the home and SMS pages carry no prices.
