MailZetta

Tap a star to rate

MailZetta is an email marketing platform sold by SecureAX, a managed cloud hosting company with one entity in Malaysia (SecureAX Sdn Bhd, in Subang Jaya) and one in Singapore (SecureAX Pte Ltd). The product page describes MailZetta as "a powerful email marketing software hosted in Singapore" and says it is the easiest way to build your brand name, increase customer engagement and enhance customer loyalty so your business gets more sales in return. In practice it is a campaign tool: you import your customer list, design HTML emails, send them through MailZetta's own pool of IP addresses, and track who opened, read and clicked. SecureAX lists it in its Cloud Email menu next to business email hosting, Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace.

The problem it is built to solve

The product page starts from a habit it wants to replace. Traditionally, it says, business owners sent marketing email from their own email account, putting every customer's address in the BCC field. That method is notorious for getting the sender's email server IP address blacklisted as a spam source, and it gives no way to tell whether an email was read or led to a sale.

MailZetta's answer is a separate sending platform. The page says you can import your customer database into it within seconds, send "beautifully designed HTML email contents," find out which customer read your email and track your sales conversion. Most importantly, in the page's own words, MailZetta uses a pool of clean IP addresses, so marketing emails can be delivered with a high success rate.

Features

The page lists MailZetta's key features:

  • completely browser based, with no downloads required
  • dozens of built-in email templates to choose from
  • a user-friendly, step-by-step campaign wizard
  • split testing of email campaigns
  • automated unsubscribe email management
  • automated bounced email processing
  • automated email de-duplication, "to avoid annoying your readers"
  • a scheduler to line campaigns up with a product launch or promotion
  • full WYSIWYG campaign editing
  • easy import and export of contacts
  • big data analytics

The built-in editor is meant for HTML content that is both visually pleasing and user-friendly, "so people read them," as the Better Content panel puts it.

Deliverability and the IP pool

Deliverability is the main selling point. The page says MailZetta manages your customer email database and sends marketing emails through a large pool of clean, cloud server IP addresses, which it says will make sure email servers globally accept the marketing emails you send. The package describes this as enhanced delivery via multiple cloud email gateways with clean IPs.

The FAQ addresses the blacklisting worry directly. Asked whether MailZetta will get your server IP address blacklisted, it answers no: MailZetta uses its own pool of cloud server IP addresses, so if recipients flag a marketing email as spam or junk, that will not affect you. Recipients can still report an email as junk or spam, the FAQ adds, "but we will deal with the potential blacklisting of IP address for you." Because MailZetta sends from its own infrastructure, it also works alongside whatever email you already use. The FAQ says you do not need SecureAX's email services to use it, since MailZetta operates independently of your email service.

Analytics and leads

Under the heading Actionable Big Data, the page explains what MailZetta records once a campaign is out: how many and which of your customers opened the email, how long they spent reading it, which areas of the email they clicked, and how many times they reopened the same email. The site's argument is that the more of this data you have, the more insight you get into what drives sales. A related panel, More Sales, says MailZetta helps you create higher quality marketing leads and tracks them for you so you can convert them into profitable sales. The FAQ ties the pieces together: a clean customer database, good HTML content and data on how customers interact with your emails are what help them open and engage.

List rules and compliance

MailZetta does not supply mailing lists. The FAQ says it does not provide any customer email databases because MailZetta processes only legitimate customer data in full compliance with the Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA) and its privacy policy, and it is against sending unsolicited email. It suggests building your list from emails exchanged in the past, website feedback forms and orders fulfilled in the past, since only a genuine customer database gets the full benefit of the platform. Every email carries an unsubscribe link, which the FAQ presents as following best practice, and unsubscribes and bounces are handled automatically.

Package and price

MailZetta is sold as one annual package. The page lists what is included:

  • send up to 200,000 emails per year
  • enhanced delivery via multiple cloud email gateways with clean IPs
  • a 1-hour complimentary web training session for the Cloud Email Marketer
  • 1 MailZetta user license

The order button prices the package at 1,000 ringgit (RM) a year.

About SecureAX

SecureAX says it was founded in 2007 and has been in the cloud computing business for more than 15 years, making corporate cloud IT solutions affordable to companies that want reliable, automated services with full access, control, security and scalability. Besides MailZetta it sells managed Singapore cloud servers, WordPress and Magento hosting, business email hosting, Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace, an email security gateway, backup and disaster recovery, and website security. Customers reach it through a phone line in Malaysia, another in Singapore, and a contact form. Its blog covers practical email topics, such as why URL shorteners can push mail into junk folders and how to send email to many recipients. The customer testimonials on the homepage praise the team's hosting and server support rather than MailZetta itself; one customer says it has used SecureAX since 2008.

Who it suits

MailZetta suits small and mid-size businesses that currently mail their customers by BCC from an office mailbox and want a simple browser tool instead: templates, a campaign wizard, split tests, scheduling and read tracking, with the IP reputation risk moved to the provider. The fixed annual package makes the cost predictable, and the training session helps a first-time user get going. The caveats are the size of that package, one user and 200,000 emails a year, and the focus on campaigns: the feature list offers scheduling rather than automated customer journeys.
