What MailUp is
MailUp is a multichannel marketing platform for email, SMS and RCS messaging. The site footer names TeamSystem S.p.A., at an address in Pesaro, Italy, as the company behind it, and the About menu points to the locations of MailUp and the TeamSystem Group. The platform FAQ says MailUp offers all the tools needed to create, schedule, send and monitor marketing campaigns on those three channels, with full database management from capturing a contact through profiling to unsubscribing. The Italian homepage calls it "L'unica piattaforma di Email Marketing senza limiti di destinatari e di invio", the only email marketing platform without limits on recipients or sends, and says more than 10,000 small and medium businesses choose it every day, alongside large companies. The English site's About menu describes MailUp's international presence in 50 countries. The Italian site also calls it the most chosen multichannel marketing platform in Italy. The site is in Italian, English and Spanish.
The pitch combines software with people. The English homepage calls MailUp "the powerful, scalable, and integrated marketing solution" and offers integration development, strategic support, concept creation and results optimization from its own team, for customers who want a tailored setup rather than self-service alone.
How pricing works
MailUp's pricing model is unusual, and it is the first thing to understand before budgeting. Every edition has unlimited contacts and unlimited sends, and the price does not rise when your database grows. The email feature page says so directly: whether your database has a thousand or a million contacts makes no difference. What you pay for is sending speed. The site calls this "pay per speed": if your contacts grow, a send takes longer, but the price stays the same.
There are 4 subscription plans: Starter, Plus, Premium and Enterprise. Your cost is the fee for the plan you choose, plus a faster sending speed if you move above the standard speed included in your plan. The features of each edition and their prices are on a separate pricing page. SMS and RCS are priced separately on their own page, and MailUp also prepares quotes for tailored solutions.
Before subscribing you can request immediate activation of a free version for 15 days, test the main features, and then subscribe or stop without any obligation.
Building emails
Emails are built in a drag and drop editor that produces professionally designed emails and newsletters optimized for smartphones and tablets, with a preview across devices. The site stresses that you do not need to know HTML or accessibility rules because the editor handles them.
Accessibility is a genuine feature here. MailUp checks the accessibility of your emails for you, covering colors, text, images and links, in real time inside the editor, so that people who use assistive technology or have reading difficulties can read your messages. The Accessibility Check suggests how to bring an email in line with European accessibility requirements.
Inside the same editor sits the AI Assistant, which the site describes as an artificial intelligence feature based on ChatGPT. You can use it to create headlines, paragraphs, lists and calls to action, and to revise, translate and repurpose existing text.
Sending, testing and reporting
The email feature menu covers email creation, SMTP+, email analysis, bad-address management, A/B testing, sending, statistics, deliverability and PEC+. A/B tests send several versions of a message to a sample of recipients and show before the main send which one reaches the goal you set.
Reporting lets you see opens and clicks for each individual recipient, along with geographic and device reports. The FAQ describes a whole Statistics area for monitoring campaigns, analyzing performance and creating detailed reports that can be shared outside the platform.
Automation and segmentation
Automation comes in two forms, automatic sends and workflows, which set up automated communication flows based on the personal and behavioral data of the contacts in your database. The English homepage says you can set up automatic cross-channel workflows in a few clicks with a drag and drop interface, and schedule automatic campaigns on Messenger and Telegram. Advanced segmentation filters can be combined with these sends so each recipient gets the right content at the right time. The homepage quotes the digital marketing director of the retailer Iperal crediting MailUp's workflows with making one-to-one communication possible.
SMS and RCS
Mobile messaging sits beside email in the same platform. The English pricing menu says you can send up to 200 high-quality SMS per second, and the Italian site groups SMS and RCS under one solution for mobile messages.
Transactional email and integrations
SMTP+ uses MailUp's speed, deliverability and tracking to send transactional email from your e-commerce store, CRM or web application. For wider integration there is an API library, and the FAQ says that whatever your system, MailUp can connect it through the API, supplying and configuring the tools to synchronize with external databases, CRM, CMS, ERP, e-commerce platforms, business intelligence systems and other applications. Tailored integration consulting is part of the offer.
Deliverability, security and GDPR
MailUp says it works to guarantee delivery rates near the top of the market and a highly reliable platform, using algorithms, certifications, IP management and send monitoring. Bounces and feedback loops are handled automatically, which the site frames as protecting the quality of your database. The deliverability section offers tools to meet mailbox providers' requirements.
On data protection, the FAQ says the infrastructure and security policies are regularly assessed and audited against high compliance standards, and names a data center located in Europe, a Data Loss Prevention protocol, threat protection systems and periodic vulnerability tests. The site has a GDPR Compliance page saying MailUp supports companies with data and privacy protection, and publishes an anti-spam policy and an accessibility statement.
Support and learning
Support in Italian is included in every edition, delivered by an in-house team of specialists, and depending on the edition you can have email, phone, priority or custom support. MailUp Academy adds a blog, live and on-demand webinars, ebooks, video tutorials, a glossary, online courses and classroom training for customers, and an annual Statistical Observatory on the state of email marketing in Italy. TeamSystem also runs a referral program.
Who it suits
MailUp suits businesses with large or fast-growing databases, since contact count never changes the price, and companies that want email, SMS, RCS and transactional sending from one supplier with consulting behind it. Italian businesses get native-language support on every plan, and the European data center and security measures suit organizations with strict data rules. The accessibility checks help any sender that needs inclusive email. The caveat is the speed-based model: as a list grows, a send at the speed your plan includes takes longer, and faster sending costs extra, so time-critical senders should compare the speed each edition includes.
