What Mailtani is

Mailtani is an email platform built for founders that plugs into your own sending account instead of sending for you. The homepage headline is "Email Marketing at €0.10 per 1,000 Emails. No Monthly Fees." The idea is that you connect your own Amazon SES account, pay Amazon directly at about €0.10 per 1,000 emails, keep your own sender reputation, and pay Mailtani a flat fee for the software, so your cost does not rise as your list grows. Resend and Mailtrap are supported as alternatives to SES.

One tool covers three kinds of email that founders often buy separately: cold email sequences, broadcast newsletters and transactional email. The site describes itself as built for founders who send email at every stage, "from your first cold outreach campaign to onboarding thousands of users, on your own infrastructure." It was built by a founder who, in his own account on the homepage, did the maths on his tool bills, switched to his own SES account and built Mailtani for others in the same position.

How setup works

The homepage walks through four steps and says the whole thing takes under an hour, faster if you already have an AWS account:

  1. Connect your email provider by plugging in your Amazon SES, Resend or Mailtrap credentials. You pay the provider directly.
  2. Set up your domain and sending address: verify the domain, configure DKIM and DMARC, and add the sending address. The dashboard shows the SPF, DKIM and DMARC records and their verification status.
  3. Import or capture contacts, either by CSV or through embeddable subscribe forms, then tag, segment and organize them with custom fields.
  4. Send newsletters, onboarding sequences and broadcasts to the whole list or a segment, with personalization tags, either immediately or on a schedule.

For the provider choice, the setup screen shows Amazon SES at about €0.10 per 1,000 emails, Resend at about €0.80 per 1,000, and Mailtrap at a flat rate. The site also makes a point about control: with your own SES key there are no shared IP pools, DKIM and DMARC settings are exposed and editable, and, in its words, "no third party can throttle or suspend you."

Sequences, broadcasts and automation

After the one-time connection, broadcasts, sequences and automations are managed entirely from the interface, so changing an email flow does not mean redeploying code. The flow builder is a visual drag and drop editor with branching logic, delays and lifecycle event triggers. The homepage's example is an onboarding sequence of six steps: a contact joins a list, gets a welcome email, waits three days, receives tips and best practices, waits seven days, then gets a case study with an upgrade call to action.

Sends can be triggered from your own app through a one-time API integration, or run manually. Personalization uses dynamic merge tags, and spintax lets each contact get a varied version of the text, which matters for cold outreach. Mailtani's use-case pages cover onboarding drips that activate new users, lifecycle and broadcast email for SaaS, and a founder newsletter built on your own domain rather than on a platform.

Cold email tools

For outbound, Mailtani adds inbox warmup and rotation. Warmup builds sender reputation before your first campaign, and rotation keeps multiple inboxes healthy automatically as you scale. The cold email use case is described as "Sequences, warmup & rotation on your own SMTP key."

Replies come back through a unified inbox. Mailtani syncs your mailboxes over IMAP, so every reply lands in one place, threaded by contact, showing who replied to which campaign, and you can answer without leaving the app. The company's blog describes this as the layer raw SES does not provide: campaign management, sequences, segmentation, analytics and reply workflows on top of your own sending account.

Contacts, forms and analytics

Segments are dynamic, built from lists, tags, custom fields and contact status, and always up to date. Subscribe forms come in three formats: an inline form, a popup button or a hosted page, each with an optional email verification link and automation triggers on submit. The feature menu also lists list management and an unsubscribe and compliance feature.

Analytics track opens, replies, bounces and complaints in real time across every campaign, and bounce and complaint handling is part of every plan. The dashboard shows emails sent, reply rate, bounce rate and the sending cost over the last 30 days.

API

The Developer API is a full REST API for transactional and marketing sends, contacts and lists, with real-time webhook events. The site links to an API reference, docs and guides, and a changelog.

Pricing

The pricing section is headed "Pay Once. Send Forever." and says there are no per-contact fees. There are two ways to buy, and both include every feature: cold email sequences, broadcast newsletters, transactional emails, visual flow automations, IMAP inbox sync, inbox rotation and warmup, unlimited contacts, signup forms, API access, advanced analytics, bounce and complaint handling, and priority support.

  • Yearly: €79 a year, billed annually, cancel anytime, with a 14-day free trial and no charge until the trial ends.
  • Lifetime Deal: €89 as a one-time fee, covering cold, marketing and transactional use, with a 14-day money-back guarantee. The offer is presented as a limited number of licenses at that price.

On either route, the other cost is your delivery provider's charge for each email you send. The pricing section has a contact slider running from 1k to 200k+ contacts, and the section promises "No per-contact fees. No scaling penalties.", leaving the provider as the only cost that grows with volume.

Free tools and resources

The site offers free tools for senders, including SPF, DKIM and DMARC record generators and a blacklist checker, and its SPF generator works without an account. The blog publishes guides for founders on topics such as SES setup, domain warmup and follow-up subject lines. The same team also makes vitelnk, a private video hosting tool, which the homepage lists as another product.

Who it suits

Mailtani suits founders, indie hackers, solopreneurs and small SaaS teams who are comfortable with an AWS account or another sending provider and want one tool for outreach, newsletters and product email at a flat price. It fits best when a list is growing and per-contact pricing would keep climbing. The trade-off is that you own the setup: verifying domains, handling DNS records and working within your provider's limits are your job, with the in-app screens and guides as help.
