Mailercloud
Tap a star to rate
Mailercloud is a cloud-based email marketing platform that its FAQ describes as "designed to help SMEs and large enterprises in their email marketing practices". It is sold as two products on one account: the Marketing Platform, for campaigns, newsletters and automated sequences, and the Email API, for transactional email sent from your own application over SMTP or REST. A third tool, the Email Verifier, checks addresses and removes invalid contacts before a send. The company says it is trusted by 35,000+ businesses and publishes usage figures on its home page: 6 billion+ emails delivered every month, 50K+ monthly campaigns, 900 million+ opens and 98% client retention. Its customer quotes include an airline and an online news publisher.
What a sender gets
Editor and templates. A drag-and-drop block editor builds responsive emails without HTML, with more than 400 mobile-responsive templates, a live desktop and mobile preview, and a custom HTML editor for people who want to code.
AMP email. Mailercloud leans on interactive AMP email. Subscribers can fill forms and surveys, answer polls and browse product carousels inside the email itself, and prices, stock levels and countdowns can update after delivery. The home page lists Gmail, Yahoo Mail and Mail.ru as compatible inboxes.
Audience tools. Segmentation, contact monitoring and contact rating let you sort and score subscribers by engagement, and a form builder creates webforms for signups. Contacts come in by CSV upload, copy and paste, or one at a time. Multi-user permissions let a team split the work on large campaigns.
Automation. The home page lists a visual workflow builder for mapping customer journeys, behavior-based triggers that fire on opens, clicks, page visits or custom events, and pre-built templates for welcome series, cart abandonment and re-engagement. Autoresponders and time-based campaigns are part of the feature set. The company stresses that automation is included on the free tier with no paywall, while the plan comparison separates a basic workflow editor from an advanced one and lists advanced and bulk automations for the higher plans.
Deliverability tools. The Inbox Tracker shows in real time whether emails land in the inbox, spam or promotions tab at Gmail, Yahoo and Outlook, with spam score analysis before sending and a sender reputation dashboard for SPF, DKIM and DMARC health. Blacklist monitoring alerts you if your sending domain or IP is flagged. Custom domains and a dedicated IP are listed as features, and the FAQ says you can authenticate as many domains as you like on a plan and use role-based sender addresses.
Reporting. The real-time dashboard covers opens, clicks, bounces, unsubscribes and revenue attribution, with click heatmaps, A/B testing reports on subject lines, content and send times, opens by location, conversion pixel tracking, timestamps and delivery by time zone.
Integrations. The integrations page names Zapier (connecting to 4000+ apps), WordPress, Pabbly Connect, Integrately (600+ applications), Make (1000+ apps), KonnectzIT, Albato, Zoho Flow, HubSpot, Digioh, LeadSync for Facebook and Instagram leads, Facebook Lead Ads and Google Sheets through Zapier, Poper.ai popups, and the Stripo and Tabular template designers. Customer engagement platforms MoEngage, CleverTap and WebEngage can send email through Mailercloud's SMTP infrastructure. The home page adds Shopify, WooCommerce, Typeform and Stripe, the pricing page names native integrations with Shopify, WooCommerce and Magento for stores, and the menu lists webhooks, contact sync and a Model Context Protocol connection.
Plans and pricing
The pricing page compares three Marketing Platform plans:
- Free. $0 a month, forever free, no credit card. 12,000 emails per month to 1,000 contacts.
- Premium. $10 a month billed monthly for 5,000 contacts in the plan table, with unlimited emails. The page says AI-powered subject lines and AMP emails are included on Premium.
- Enterprise. Custom pricing tailored to your sending volume, with custom contact limits.
The feature comparison runs from regular campaigns, A/B testing, an AI subject line generator and AMP email support through a basic and an advanced workflow editor, advanced and bulk automations, email support, priority chat support and a dedicated account manager, to GDPR and DPA terms and SSO (SAML), with more of them unlocked on the higher plans.
Price rises with the number of contacts you store, not the emails you send. The page's comparison table gives Mailercloud's price at several list sizes: $50 for 10,000 contacts, $125 for 25,000, $230 for 50,000 and $380 for 100,000. Paid plans include unlimited sending under fair use, which the FAQ defines as sending that reflects normal marketing activity to people who opted in. Annual billing saves 30%, upgrades are prorated and take effect at once, downgrades apply from the next billing cycle, and there is no lock-in contract. You can pay in USD, GBP or INR, with VAT or GST added where it applies.
The page also sets out recommended plans by use: Premium from $16.80 a month for ecommerce stores running abandoned cart and post-purchase flows, Enterprise for agencies that manage multiple client accounts with white-label reports, bulk automation, volume discounts and a dedicated success manager, and Free for creators until they cross 1K subscribers.
Email API. Transactional sending is priced separately. The pricing page says the Email API "starts at $7/month", supports SMTP and REST, and can run from the same account as the Marketing Platform, so a SaaS team can pair Premium for lifecycle campaigns with the API for app email.
Compliance and support
The footer links to a GDPR compliance page, a Data Processing Addendum, a sub-processor list, an anti-spam policy and a service status page, and GDPR and DPA terms appear in the plan comparison. The anti-spam policy sets out how complaints are handled. The company's own blog posts say 24/7 live chat and email support are available on every plan, including free. The site also has a help center, API docs, video tutorials, an e-book and a public roadmap, and the pricing page cites review scores of 4.5 out of 5 on Capterra, Trustpilot and G2.
Who it suits
Mailercloud suits small and mid-sized senders who want a generous free start: 12,000 emails a month to 1,000 contacts, with automation included, covers a new newsletter or a small shop. Stores on Shopify, WooCommerce or Magento get native integrations and ready-made cart and post-purchase flows, and marketers who want interactive AMP emails or built-in inbox placement monitoring will find both on the platform. Agencies can move to Enterprise for multi-client accounts and white-label reports, and developers can add the Email API for transactional mail.
The caveat is that contact-based pricing climbs as a list grows, so a large list that is mailed rarely costs as much as one mailed often, and AMP features depend on the recipient's inbox supporting them.
