MailCamp is a Dutch email marketing platform for sending newsletters and campaigns from one account, run by MailCamp B.V. from Haarlem in the Netherlands. The site describes it as "Nederlandse e-mailmarketing software. Makkelijk, veilig en professioneel" (Dutch email marketing software, easy, secure and professional), and the pitch rests on three things: an editor that non-technical staff can use, customer data that stays in the Netherlands, and a Dutch-speaking helpdesk you can phone. The company says it has more than 20 years of experience and more than 2,000 customers, and the comparison page adds that those customers are in the Netherlands and Belgium. The copyright line runs from 2004. The site is written in Dutch throughout, and it presents solutions for small and medium-sized businesses, healthcare, education, government and golf courses.

What a sender gets

The editor. MailCamp puts its drag-and-drop editor at the center. The home page promises "maximale opmaakvrijheid" (maximum layout freedom) and lists what comes with it: optimized HTML, layouts that work on mobile, a way to define and lock in a house style, a dark mode preview, an extended media manager, a built-in photo editor, and the option to download a newsletter as a PDF. There are more than 1,600 free templates, all responsive, and MailCamp will also design a custom template for you. An HTML editor sits alongside the drag-and-drop builder for people who want to code, and attachments can be sent with a mailing. One customer quoted on the site, Unique Mode, says it moved to MailCamp because the builder gave it more control over the mobile layout without elements being resized automatically.

AI content tools. The platform generates text and royalty-free images with AI. The home page describes image generation from a single prompt and text generation for people who lack inspiration, and it frames the image feature as a way to avoid using a picture that turns out to carry rights.

Lists and segments. Segments and filters let you target part of a list, and the site stresses targeted, personal mailings. Subscribers are unlimited according to the feature table on the comparison page, and the pricing FAQ says the bill does not grow with your list.

Automation. Automatic follow-up emails can run as a series, or be sent automatically to segments based on opens and clicks. A/B testing and RSS feed integration are in the feature list, and the FAQ confirms that automations, segmentation and forms are all present.

Landing pages and pop-ups. Landing pages and pop-ups with notifications are part of the package for collecting signups on your own site.

Reporting. Statistics and reports on each mailing, and the FAQ says bounces and complaints show up directly in the account so you can correct course before a problem grows.

Teams and agencies. Subaccounts let departments or clients work together or separately in one account, with permissions and restrictions set by the account owner. Admin roles and rights, SSO, a multilingual interface and installation on your own domain are listed as well. A political party quoted on the site says its head office keeps control while local branches send their own newsletters and invitations, and a university says it sets every user's rights from one system. MailCamp also runs a white-label reseller program for agencies, and one testimonial mentions "een interessant verdienmodel voor bureaus" (an interesting earning model for agencies).

Integrations. The site says you can connect your website, webshop or CRM to MailCamp, and it links to an API integration page from the footer. No specific named integrations appear on the pages.

Data, security and deliverability

Data location is the part MailCamp talks about most. The FAQ says that MailCamp processes data according to AVG/GDPR (AVG is the Dutch name for the GDPR) with clear processing agreements, and that all data "is en blijft volgens de AVG / GDPR in Nederland / EU" (is and remains in the Netherlands / EU). The comparison page states that MailCamp stores customer data in the Netherlands and lists "100% NL Server". The home page says MailCamp is ISO 27001 certified, and the feature table lists two-factor or multi-factor authentication. A Trust Center is linked from the footer.

On deliverability, the FAQ says the team helps set up the right sender settings and domain authentication, naming SPF, DKIM and "bij voorkeur DMARC" (preferably DMARC), and advises on segment hygiene and sending frequency to keep your sender reputation stable. The home page also offers a form for reporting unwanted email sent through its software.

Pricing and trial

The site does not print a price list, but the FAQ explains the model: you pay for the package that matches the number of emails you send, not for the size of your audience, and "Groeit het emailbestand, dan zullen wij jou daar niet op afrekenen" (if your list grows, we will not charge you for it). The comparison page describes the cost model as a fixed low monthly price and mentions "Geen verborgen kosten, eerlijke limieten" (no hidden costs, fair limits). A package called MailCamp Essential appears in the savings calculator, a short questionnaire that asks which tool you use now, how many contacts you have and how often you send, and then estimates a yearly saving. Customers can pay by invoice rather than credit card.

The free trial lasts 30 days, needs no credit card and carries no obligation, and it includes the free helpdesk. A demo can be booked as well.

Support and switching

Support is in Dutch, by email and by phone, with a fixed contact person who knows your account. The home page promises a fast Dutch response and says the helpdesk is also reachable by phone, and the site offers a help center, a knowledge base and training and strategy advice on top of software support.

For customers moving from another platform there is a free switching service in three steps: MailCamp imports your addresses and lists, helps set up your domain's DNS for deliverability, and converts your existing templates. The FAQ says a move usually takes 48 hours. On its customer rating, the site says 270 customers rated MailCamp 9.8 (written "9,8" on the page).

Who it suits

MailCamp fits Dutch and Belgian organizations that want their newsletter tool, their data and their support in the Netherlands. Public bodies, schools, care providers and associations with strict privacy policies get Dutch data storage, the stated ISO 27001 certificate and processing agreements in one place. Organizations with many departments or local branches get subaccounts with rights set centrally, and agencies can resell the platform under their own brand. The send-volume pricing suits a large list that is mailed a few times a month.

The main caveat is language: the site, the support and the positioning are Dutch, so an English-speaking team outside the region should check the interface language settings during the trial. And because prices are not published, a buyer needs to get a quote or run the savings calculator before comparing costs.
