Mail Designer 365

Mail Designer 365 is a Mac application for designing and sending branded email newsletters and campaigns. The home page describes it as "a simple Mac email design tool, built for small businesses and creatives", and its pitch is one workflow on your Mac: build, customize and send campaigns "without juggling separate design and marketing tools". It is made by TOWER ONE GmbH, which holds the copyright on the site, and the blog posts in its Newsletter Academy are signed by Team equinux. The design services page says the team behind it has more than 15 years in the email industry. The site is published in English and German, and the entry-level plan, Mail Designer Essentials, is advertised as "Professional emails from just $5/month".

What a sender gets

The editor. The heart of the product is a drag-and-drop editor that runs as a native Mac app. You can start from a blank canvas or from a "Design Idea", the company's name for its ready-made templates, which are grouped by use: restaurants, retail, real estate, education, events, leisure and more, plus designs for seasonal, sales, automated and announcement emails. Branding tools include custom color schemes and "over 1000 available web fonts (including easy import options for custom fonts)", according to the company's event marketing guide.

Layouts. The leisure sector page talks about "Thousands of possible layout combinations", including a responsive table layout for opening hours, entry prices and package details, and a bold combi layout for news and promotions. A drag-and-drop table editor and reusable layout options sit alongside. For a school, the education guide suggests mobile-responsive table layouts to present timetables and key information clearly.

Reusable blocks. Logos, contact and travel details, or a familiar newsletter layout can be saved and reused. The education guide gives the concrete tip that you can save your logo header under My saved blocks and reuse it in all future email designs. The home page makes the same point in general terms: reusable layouts, styles and templates help you launch campaigns in minutes.

Mobile preview. The app offers "an integrated smartphone view and preview within the app on the latest iOS and Android devices", so you can adjust a design for phones before it goes out.

Links and extras. The event guide says the app supports custom mailto, SMS and telephone links, including a pre-filled subject line and message, so recipients can reply or call with one tap. It also explains how to attach a calendar file or link to an email, and how to build social media calls to action.

Sending. Mail Designer 365 is more than a design tool. The leisure page lists "Integrated sending options" to "Send individual emails to customers or larger campaigns to your entire audience", and it names two parts of the campaign side: Crew Chat, for bringing your team on board to discuss designs, and Delivery Hub, for scheduling and sending campaigns. The education guide sets out three ways to get a finished design out: "Send finished designs directly using Mail Designer, send from your school's email account, or export as HTML to use with your own service." That flexibility means a business can use the app purely as a designer and keep its existing sending service, or run everything from the Mac.

Other products. The site menu also lists Direct Mail, custom designs, and email design tools with API integration, along with a Mail Designer Store and a collection of HTML email templates.

Plans and trial

Mail Designer Essentials starts at $5 a month. A 7-day free trial needs no credit card. The site states that all prices include VAT where applicable and that dollar prices are in USD, and the design services page adds that prices vary by location. The home page says the app is compatible from macOS 10.13 onwards, including macOS 26 Tahoe.

Design services

For businesses that would rather not build their own template, the in-house design team sells fixed-price packages, which the page presents as "total budget transparency":

  • Pure Design. $99, shown against a crossed-out $149. For businesses and freelancers wanting a custom branded template: a personalized base email design, an optimized color palette with locked-in text styles, and a 1:1 handover call plus one round of optimizations.
  • Flight Ready. $249, marked best value. For new users who want to set up Mail Designer to design and send: a custom branded template optimized for Mail Designer, account setup for sending, and a 1:1 handover session with a complete walkthrough of the first send.
  • Campaign. $199, shown against a crossed-out $349. For owners who want to outsource their email marketing completely: campaign creation from your brief, final content optimization by chat or video call, target group selection and automated scheduling, and post-send analytics and evaluation.

One-on-one consulting sessions cost $70 for 30 minutes and $140 for 60 minutes, and you can request a quote for anything outside the packages. After you buy, the team contacts you to schedule the call. Each package delivers a template optimized for the Mail Designer editor, so you can make future updates yourself.

Support

Support is a clear part of the pitch. The home page says: "We're a small team focused on helping small businesses succeed with email marketing. No chatbots or outsourcing. Just 1:1 guidance from people who know Mail Designer for Mac inside and out." Self-help comes as a manual, FAQ, video tutorials and the Newsletter Academy blog, and there is a contact form. Customer quotes on the site praise the personal support; one long-time user says they have used Mail Designer since 2013.

Who it suits

Mail Designer 365 suits small businesses and creatives who work on a Mac and care about how their emails look: restaurants promoting menus and events, retailers launching collections, estate agents sending property updates, schools, hotels, leisure venues and medical practices, all of which have their own pages and templates on the site. It fits a business that wants design control first and a simple way to send, or one that wants a designer to build the template once and then maintain it itself. The export-to-HTML option also makes it useful for a team that already sends through another service and just wants better-looking emails.

The main caveat is the platform: it is a Mac app, so a team on Windows or working only in a browser cannot use it. Its strength is design and straightforward sending, so a sender who needs detailed behavioral automation or a large integration catalog should check the campaign features in the trial.
