ListaMester

ListaMester is a Hungarian newsletter sender and online sales automation tool. Its home page describes it, in Hungarian, as "a magyar mikro- és kisvállalkozók megfizethető hírlevélküldője és online értékesítést automatizáló szoftvere", which translates as the affordable newsletter sender and online sales automation software of Hungarian micro and small businesses. The interface, the support team and the whole site are in Hungarian, and the product is built around the tools a small Hungarian business already uses: online payment, automatic invoicing and the webshop engines common in the country. The site sums up the path it covers in one line, from building a first list to a complex sales system.

Who the platform is built for

The home page splits its audience into four groups, and each description says a good deal about what the software does.

The first group is small business owners just starting out: people who are only now beginning to collect subscribers and want software they can switch on quickly, or who already have a list and want to send a regular newsletter. For them ListaMester is a straightforward list and newsletter tool.

The second group is more advanced entrepreneurs. The site speaks to people who already have a list, want to automate processes so they have more time for the business itself, and have a few digital products they want to sell online. This is where the sales automation side comes in: sequences that move a subscriber from signup toward a purchase without the owner sending each message by hand.

The third group is webshop operators who want more returning buyers and plan to use automated, personalized campaigns to get them. The site says the software connects to the most popular Hungarian and foreign webshop engines, so purchase data from the shop can drive those campaigns.

The fourth group is web developers and implementers who build websites or online sales systems for clients. The pitch to them is time saved: in the site's words, "Kész rendszereket adunk, nem kell hegesztened", which says the company hands over finished systems so the developer does not have to weld them together.

What a sender gets

The home page lists what the team says it develops and operates. The software runs in the browser from anywhere, so nothing has to be installed. It is quick to set up: the page says you can use it two minutes after registering. The free, unlimited trial period runs with full functionality, which the page presents as proof that the product is no pig in a poke. It is built for the needs of Hungarian small businesses and connects to the Hungarian ecosystem, covering online payment, automatic invoicing and links to webshop engines. It has annual subscription fees the company calls favorable, so the cost stays manageable as a list grows. And it has a reachable Hungarian customer service team for when a user gets stuck.

The free-plan page names several modules that other tools sometimes sell separately and that ListaMester includes for everyone: a birthday module, an autoresponder, a scheduling module, an RSS reader, a pro forma invoice generator and a programming interface. The page states plainly that there are no functional restrictions on paid plans either, and that all of ListaMester's professional newsletter functions come with the service by default, "Az ingyenesben is" (in the free one too).

That list shows the shape of the product. The autoresponder and scheduler cover drip sequences and timed sends. The birthday module sends date-based messages. The RSS reader can turn a blog feed into mailings. The pro forma invoice generator and the payment links tie email to selling, which fits the "online sales" half of the product's description. The programming interface gives developers a way to connect their own systems, which matters to the fourth audience group.

The editor is described on the free-plan page as professional and word-processor-like, suitable even with little knowledge for editing responsive and graphic emails. The same page adds that the responsive email editor is available only with a subscription and carries a separate fee there, so a free user builds with the standard editor.

The free plan in detail

The free-plan page is the most specific page the company publishes, and its headline claims are strong. Anyone can use the free newsletter sender for an unlimited time; there is no time limit, and the page tells new users to get to know ListaMester at their own pace. It also says the low cost continues after upgrading: "Fizetősen is olcsók vagyunk" (we are cheap on paid plans too).

The stated parameters of the free package are:

  • a maximum of 100 members in total,
  • a monthly email volume of 1000,
  • logging of sent emails for a limited period,
  • a discreet ListaMester logo at the bottom of each email, which can be switched off only with a subscription.

The page says there is no advertising in newsletters sent from a free account. The small logo at the bottom is the image that measures opens, so it doubles as the open-tracking pixel. For a sender who wants mail that carries only their own brand, removing the logo is one of the reasons to pay.

One testimonial on the home page confirms how the free tier works in practice. Molnár Anita, a family tax consultant, writes that she chose ListaMester as a beginner partly because the interface is in Hungarian and partly because every function can be tried for free up to 100 subscribers. She adds that seven years have passed, her list has grown large, and she is still satisfied.

Scale and track record

The home page gives a set of figures about the service itself. It says the company delivered 120 million newsletters in 2019, a number it says grows by an average of 20 million a year. It says 1,500 active users work with the software, 90% of them micro businesses. It says an online sales automation can be built and run with an investment of 0 Ft. And it describes itself as a service that has been running for 10+ years.

What users say

The testimonials on the home page come from small business owners and marketers, and each stresses a slightly different point.

Vida Ágnes, a psychologist and online marketing expert, says beginners often ask her which newsletter sender to choose, and that ListaMester is a rare system that a less technical user can learn quickly, that does everything a starting business needs for email marketing, and that can be running in minutes. She calls it transparent, versatile and good value for money.

Bliszkó Gábor of the agency BE on WEB says it lets the agency offer its small and medium business partners a high standard of service at an affordable price, and that every function a smaller business needs, webshops included, is there and easy to configure.

Tulok Imre says he has used ListaMester for at least 10 years and plans to keep using it. He values the support team most: answers arrive quickly, and the team is proactive, suggesting what to do and how.

Repka Ágnes, an employment law consultant, says the system is easy to learn with little time invested, the support team is helpful, and the price is competitive against other newsletter tools on the market.

Fürész-Mayernik Melinda, founder of the Angol Kalauz program, describes building instant Barion payment into the signup forms on a later project, so that she only has to watch which purchases come in while the system handles the rest. She says the system paid back its cost within a very short time.

Pricing model and support

The home page describes the paid side as annual subscription fees and links to a separate prices page. The free plan is the entry point, and the free-plan page makes clear that paying changes the limits and a few extras (the logo, the responsive editor) rather than opening up features held back from free users. Support is a Hungarian customer service team, backed by a guide section and a blog. Recent blog topics include a downloadable marketing calendar of 226 holidays and notable days for 2026, a primer on welcome emails and the metric that shows whether they work, and a piece on deciding whether a Black Friday campaign makes sense at all. The footer also links to an integrations page and an anti-spam policy.

Who it suits

ListaMester fits a Hungarian micro business, coach, consultant or small webshop that wants a newsletter and sales automation tool in its own language, with local payment and invoicing connected, and a free plan that is not a time-limited trial. The 100-contact free tier is enough to learn the whole product and run a first list for real, as one user did for years. Web developers building sales systems for Hungarian clients also get a programming interface included rather than sold as an add-on.

It is a less natural fit for a team that does not work in Hungarian, since the interface, support and guidance are all Hungarian. A large sender outgrows the free tier quickly and then budgets on the annual subscription, which it should compare against its own list size on the prices page.
