IDmailing is an online newsletter tool from Belgium that lets a business write an email and send it to its customers and prospects, organized by target group. The company's site describes it as "een gebruiksvriendelijke online tool waarmee u snel e-mails kan opstellen en versturen naar al uw klanten" (a user-friendly online tool with which you can quickly compose emails and send them to all your customers). It is run by IDnet bv from Bissegemstraat 33 in Gullegem, Belgium, and the site is available in Dutch and French. The audience is the ordinary small business that wants to keep its clients informed about news, products, services and promotions without learning technical tools: the site says you do not need to be an internet specialist to work with it.

Composing a newsletter

The editor offers two starting points. You can design your own email from a blank layout or start from one of IDmailing's own templates. The home page explains the template route in plain terms: pick a template and fill it with your text, photos and videos. According to the company, its own templates make technical skills unnecessary, and newsletters go out to all your different target groups within a few minutes.

The site stresses ease of use throughout. It says everything is built to be as user-friendly as possible so that you can compose, send and manage your mails quickly and simply, and that you decide for yourself what your digital newsletter looks like. Its "Wie zijn we?" section adds that thanks to IDmailing you can set up an email campaign "in enkele minuten" (in a few minutes).

Help is part of the offer. The home page says IDmailing's dynamic and professional team is glad to help you put your mailing campaign together, which matters for a business that would rather have someone walk it through the first sends than work it out alone.

Address groups and targeted sends

IDmailing organizes contacts into address groups. The four steps on the home page begin with "Bepaal uw adresgroepen" (define your address groups): per target group you set your marketing objectives, which the site says lets you reach more customers. The product page describes the same thing as managing your mailing list.

Sending follows from those groups. Under "Email versturen" (send email) the site says you can give each target group an adapted newsletter and afterwards keep control over who received which newsletter. A shop could send one mailing to existing customers and a different one to prospects, and later see which list got which edition. The site frames this as the answer for a large audience: with IDmailing it is possible to reach different target groups in an easy way.

Statistics after the send

The fourth step is "Data opvolgen" (follow up the data). The site says you can always follow the statistics of your sent emails and find out, among other things, how many customers opened your newsletter and the number of clicks on your email. The product page adds that you can see who read the newsletter.

IDmailing ties those numbers to content decisions. Under the heading "Meetbaar" (measurable), the site says the tool shows you which topics your customers find interesting, so you can keep sending them relevant information and nobody marks your newsletter as spam. The pitch is less about dashboards and more about learning, send by send, what your own list wants to read.

Why the company says email is worth it

The home page makes the case for email with one figure: "91% van de gebruikers checkt dagelijks hun e-mail" (91% of users check their email daily). It encourages businesses to use newsletters to profile the company, keep customers up to date on how the business is doing, and present new products, services or promotions.

The product page positions the same tool for email advertising. It addresses a business that wants to send professional promotional email to bring customers or prospects up to date with its latest news, and describes IDmailing as a newsletter system in which you compose your mails, manage your mailing list and follow up your campaign in one place. The result, in the page's words, is a digital newsletter aimed specifically at your target group, after which you can see who read it. The page sums the promise up with a Dutch idiom: with IDmailing, sending advertising by email is "een fluitje van een cent" (a piece of cake).

Company background

The site says IDmailing was launched in 2003 after strong demand from the company's own customers, who wanted an easy way to inform their customers in turn. The operating company is IDnet bv. IDmailing's parent company is IDcreation, which the site describes as a dynamic and professional team with more than 20 years of experience ("meer dan 20 jaar ervaring"), specialized in building custom websites, web shops, extranets and intranets. A sister company, Optimizer bv, works in online marketing and is described as an official Google Partner. For a buyer, that means the newsletter tool comes from a small Belgian web agency group rather than a standalone software vendor.

Pricing, demo and support

The site publishes no prices or plans; the product page invites visitors to request a free demo ("Vraag nu een gratis demo"). Contact runs through a form on every page asking for name, email, phone, company and a remark, and through the Gullegem office. Existing customers log in to the tool from the site's login link.

Who it suits

IDmailing fits a Dutch or French speaking small business in Belgium that wants to send a regular newsletter to a few customer and prospect groups, with templates to fill in and a local team that will help build the first campaigns. The open and click statistics give enough feedback to steer content over time. A business that already works with IDcreation or Optimizer on its website or search marketing may find it convenient to keep newsletters with the same group. Teams that need a public price list before talking to anyone will have to go through the demo request, and the site describes composing, sending and statistics only, so senders looking for published detail on automation or integrations will need to raise it in that demo.
