blastmail
Tap a star to rate
blastmail (ブラストメール) is a Japanese email distribution service for companies that send newsletters and bulk email to their own lists. It is run by Rakus Light Cloud Co., Ltd. (株式会社ラクスライトクラウド), which the site describes as part of the Rakus Group, a Prime-market listed company (東証プライム上場企業). The pitch on the home page is large-scale sending at low cost with simple operation: "大規模配信を低コストで実現" (large-scale delivery at low cost). The service is sold in Japanese, priced in yen, and aimed at Japanese businesses of every size, from a first newsletter to lists in the tens of thousands.
Market position, as the company states it
blastmail's headline claim is "導入数シェア15年連続No.1" (number one in adoption share for 15 consecutive years), footnoted to a 2025 market report on cloud bulk email services by the research firm Mic IT Report. The home page adds that the service has been offered for more than 20 years and has a base of more than 27,000 client companies (27,000社以上), and the footer notes that Rakus Group services hold more than 95,000 contracts in total. The company links its low prices to that scale: many customers share one large sending platform, which spreads server and maintenance costs per company. A company blog post describes the sending performance as "毎時1,500万通" (15 million emails per hour).
What a sender gets
Getting started. The home page promises a first send in as little as 3 minutes and three steps: upload a list by CSV, create and send an email from a template, then check open and click rates, which can also be exported as CSV.
Editor and templates. The HTML email editor needs no design or HTML knowledge; users pick from a set of selected layouts or upload their own HTML files. Merge codes insert reader data such as name or company name into the body.
Targeting and step emails. Target delivery groups readers by conditions and sends only to that group. Step emails (ステップメール) send a planned sequence automatically, starting from a date such as registration, purchase or birthday.
Forms and list care. Sign-up forms are built without code and placed by pasting a URL, and the menu also lists registration by blank email. One-click unsubscribe lets readers leave with a single click. List cleaning keeps the list in good shape to cut error rates.
Reporting. The measurement tool shows open rates, who opened and when, and link clicks in real time, so senders can adjust subject lines and send times.
API. Recipient registration, sending and retrieval of results can be automated from other systems such as MA and CRM tools through the API, which the site says reduces both manual work and security risk. For system-generated mail, the home page points to a sister service, blastengine (ブラストエンジン), which sends transactional and bulk mail through an API or SMTP relay.
Deliverability
blastmail says it analyzes delivery data from its customer base to optimize sending per mailbox provider and avoid blocks and spam filters. The site states that it complies with Gmail's sender guidelines ("Gmailメール送信者ガイドライン対応済み"). The features menu lists DKIM signing for spam protection (迷惑メール対策(DKIM署名)) and BIMI against spoofing, and the Standard plan adds a spam-judgment countermeasure feature designed to keep mail out of readers' spam folders. The company blog also lists an IP reputation check.
Plans and pricing
All prices on the page exclude tax. Sending is unlimited on every plan ("配信通数無制限"); the price depends on the number of registered addresses.
- Light plan: 月額 4,000 円 (4,000 yen a month) for 0 to 5,000 registered addresses, with an initial fee of 10,000 yen, halved on a one-year contract. It covers the basic features only.
- Standard plan: from 月額 8,000 円 (8,000 yen a month) with the same 10,000 yen initial fee (halved on a one-year contract). The price table reads 8,000 yen up to 10,000 addresses, 15,000 yen up to 20,000, 20,000 yen up to 30,000 and 30,000 yen up to 50,000. It adds the spam countermeasure feature, and IP address restriction is available from this plan.
- Pro plan: from 月額 30,000 円 (30,000 yen a month) with a 50,000 yen initial fee, for large-scale sending at low cost, with a dedicated support contact and quotes on request.
The free trial runs 7 days including the start date, needs no credit card, and does not renew into a paid plan automatically. All features can be tested during the trial; when it ends, the features stop working, and a trial can be extended through the contact form.
Security and data
The security section lists SSL/TLS and STARTTLS encryption for all communication, detection and blocking of unauthorized traffic with a firewall, regular vulnerability assessments including third-party platform checks, and "AWS国内データセンター" (AWS data centers in Japan). The FAQ confirms "データはすべて国内データセンターで管理しています" (all data is managed in domestic data centers). IP address restriction is available on Standard and above, and permission management and an email approval flow can be added as options from Standard. Rakus Light Cloud has held the Privacy Mark since October 2006 and ISMS certification (ISO/IEC 27001:2022) since November 2023 for the design, development and operation of its cloud services.
Support and partners
Support is free on all plans, including during the trial: questions by contact form answered by email, phone support on weekdays from 10:00 to 17:00, an AI chat, a support site with manuals, online seminar videos, and individual online consultations with a demo before signing up. Pro plan customers get a dedicated support person at no charge. The case studies include Shinchosha, DeNA, LIFULL, ALC and Nulab. A partner program lets system integrators, marketing agencies and web production companies introduce or resell blastmail and blastengine to their clients.
Who it suits
blastmail suits Japanese companies that send regular newsletters or announcements to large lists and want predictable costs: sending is unlimited, so the bill follows list size rather than volume. Non-technical teams get a no-code editor and forms, while companies with a CRM or MA tool can feed lists through the API. Organizations that must keep data in Japan, or that ask vendors for Privacy Mark and ISMS, will find both stated. Agencies and integrators can join the partner program. Developers who need to send transactional mail from their own applications are pointed to blastengine instead, and senders outside Japan will find the service, support and pricing entirely in Japanese.
