AlpacaRelay
Tap a star to rate
AlpacaRelay is an email marketing platform for small business owners who want professional campaigns without becoming email experts themselves. You share an idea for an email, and the platform's AI designs, writes and scores it, then sends it to your list and keeps automated sequences running. The home page sums up the promise as "Share an idea. Your team designs, writes, and ships it in 60 seconds", with a quality score attached so you know whether the email is good before it goes out. The footer describes the service as "Expert email marketing, managed for you".
The company's argument is that most email tools hand the hard part back to the user. On its comparison pages it calls this the expertise work behind every campaign, from audience targeting to subject lines and deliverability monitoring, and positions AlpacaRelay as the tool where the AI does that work instead of the business owner. The team behind it says it has "sent tens of billions of emails" and has practiced email "for a decade" across consumer apps, marketplaces and SaaS.
The AI team
The home page presents the product as five roles in one subscription: a Designer, a Copywriter, a Strategist, an Audience expert and an Analyst. The Designer pulls your fonts, colors and tone from your website and applies them automatically, so that, in the site's words, "your brand is the brief". The comparison pages add that the AI editor can rebuild existing designs in minutes from your brand colors and tone: you describe what you want and it generates a template.
Creating an email starts with a prompt. The sample prompts on the home page include a spring sale, an invitation to join a community, an introduction of the brand to new customers, a weekly newsletter and an invitation to a blog post, and you can also import an existing email to improve it. After the first version is generated, you tune it in plain English by telling the assistant what to change, or by reviewing its suggested improvements.
Quality scoring
Scoring is the feature the company builds its case on. Every email gets an Email Quality Score out of 100 before it is sent, shown in the product with a breakdown and a list of issues to fix. On one of its comparison pages, AlpacaRelay says the score assesses 8 dimensions: Structural Compliance, CTA Clarity, Personalization Depth, Subject Line Strategy, Content Relevance, Design Responsiveness, Sender Reputation and Deliverability Signals. The in-product example on the home page shows sub-scores for deliverability, mobile render quality, subject line quality, conversion pathway clarity and visual design and hierarchy, with buttons to optimize the email or run the audit again.
The same comparison page says the system then handles subject line optimization, send time optimization and deliverability monitoring automatically. You can try the scoring without signing up: the site offers free benchmark scores for your own emails.
Personalization, sequences and reporting
AlpacaRelay's pitch on targeting is that each customer is treated as an individual. The home page gives examples: regulars who come in on Tuesdays get a different message from first-timers, loyal spa clients hear about new treatments first, gym members get a re-engagement email at day 14 of inactivity, and dental patients get recall reminders at 6 months. Automated sequences include welcome series, re-engagement and seasonal campaigns, and the site says they "run quietly while you do everything else". The welcome series is meant to evolve based on how new subscribers respond.
Reporting covers real opens, real clicks and revenue tied to each send, and the Analyst role keeps a watchlist of what is working. The site also publishes industry benchmarks, so you can see where your emails stand.
Templates and resources
For people who want to browse first, the site has a large free library. The home page lists 1,200+ email examples scored by industry, 49,000+ ready-made campaign sequences and 1,000+ pre-send checklists, all open without a signup. Hundreds of templates can be personalized with AI in seconds, without design skills. There are also guides, a glossary, a blog, industry pages and migration guides for people switching from another tool.
Building a list from scratch
The platform is explicitly designed for businesses that do not have a list yet. Under "Starting from zero", the site says: share one idea, your team creates it, then helps you build your list from the customers you already have, showing you how to ask, when to ask and what to send first. The example on the page combines past customers from a point-of-sale system, a booking system and Instagram followers into a starting list. For businesses switching from another platform, the comparison pages say the AI maps fields automatically when you import contacts.
Plans and pricing
The comparison pages state the pricing as "Free forever plan, paid from $19/mo". One comparison page adds that the free tier includes up to 2,500 contacts with full quality scoring, and the comparisons quote an AlpacaRelay platform cost of $99 a month; the summary box on the same pages puts the total cost at "$19-99/month". Signing up takes, according to the home page, no credit card, no commitment and 60 seconds, and there is a "Talk to a human" option for people who want to speak with someone first.
Integrations and technical side
The main navigation has sections for integrations, MCP and documentation, and the legal pages include a data processing addendum next to the privacy policy and terms of service. The home page does not name the connected tools.
Who it suits
AlpacaRelay is aimed at owner-run businesses: bakeries, dental practices, boutiques, gyms and spas are the examples its customer quotes come from. A bakery owner says they were "terrified of email marketing" until the platform showed them a complete email in under a minute, and a dental practice owner says their agency never explained its decisions, while AlpacaRelay shows what is working. For a service business with regular customers and no marketing staff, the mix of AI drafting, automatic branding and pre-send scoring is the point of the product.
The company is candid about where it is not the right fit. Its own comparison pages say AlpacaRelay "is not positioned for ecommerce" and that stores needing deep product catalog data, predictive product recommendations or detailed revenue attribution should look at ecommerce specialists, as should teams that need cross-channel orchestration across SMS and push notifications. Teams that want to hand-build every email in a traditional editor may also find the prompt-first workflow less familiar.
