Sitecore Send is the email marketing product of Sitecore, the enterprise digital experience platform (DXP) vendor whose wider suite is now sold as SitecoreAI. The Send page describes it as an email marketing platform that "enables businesses to create, manage and optimize email campaigns", covering promotional campaigns, newsletters, automated lifecycle mail and transactional messages sent through the Send API. It is aimed at marketing teams in large organizations that already run, or plan to run, their websites, assets and customer data on Sitecore, and it is sold through demos rather than a self-serve signup.

What Sitecore Send does

The Send FAQ lists the building blocks: a visual editor, "highly customizable templates", segmentation, and no-code integrations, so that email marketers can build campaigns "without the need of developer support". The editor is a drag-and-drop, no-code canvas, and the templates are meant as a starting point rather than a fixed layout.

Automation is the second pillar. Send ships premade automation templates that fire personalized emails from customer actions, and the product page gives cart abandonment and a successful purchase as examples. The FAQ adds that the automation layer handles "personalized emailers and transactional updates based on customer triggers", so a store can run a post-purchase sequence and its order mail from the same system.

The page also names four kinds of email the product is built for. Promotional emails carry discounts, deals and new product announcements and are customized by a customer's behavior and preferences. Transactional emails contain personal information tied to an action, with order confirmations, password resets and shipping updates as the examples. Newsletters go to people who signed up for regular news and offers. Lifecycle emails depend on where a person sits in the customer lifecycle, such as a welcome email after signup or a message triggered by an action taken after it.

Transactional mail and the API

Transactional sending is handled through "automated transactional campaigns powered by the Send API", which deliver order and account messages straight to the customer's inbox. For developers, the Send page promises quick deployment through API integrations and a fast setup on websites and channels. Documentation sits under "Introduction to Send" and "Working with Send", alongside the Sitecore Developer Portal.

AI inside Send

Send includes an AI writer. The FAQ says it "enables email marketers to create, optimize and fine tune email content", and the product page describes AI-powered audience discovery that creates segments, applies tags and triggers tailored automated campaigns. Reporting goes beyond opens and clicks: the insights and analytics module measures engagement with themes and keywords across your content.

These features sit within SitecoreAI, the platform's name for AI built into every product. The platform page says "20+ pre-built AI agents draft, tag, translate, and activate content" without a team switching AI tools. The model is human-in-the-loop: agents draft, tag and prepare, and people approve, refine and publish. Role-based permissions, approval gates and full audit logs are there to keep output on-brand, and the page says the platform is "Backed by enterprise-grade security and our partnership with Microsoft." For teams that want their own automation, Agentic Studio offers a visual, no-code agent builder with pre-built agents and templates, and the page lists "No token limits" among its features.

The wider SitecoreAI platform

Send is one module in a larger system. The platform page lists five core capabilities: a Content Management System for multi-brand, multi-region and omnichannel publishing; Digital Asset Management, a searchable hub with AI tagging and rights and approvals built into the workflow; Content Operations for briefs, workflows and approvals; Audience and Insights, which brings unified profiles, behavior and intent into one dashboard view with real-time signals for segmentation; and Conversion Optimization for personalization, A/B testing and search. The Send page links to the CMS, DAM and Audience and Insights products as the natural next steps.

The customer data platform page explains how that data layer works. Sitecore CDP collects data from websites, mobile apps, email, social media and in-store interactions, and ingests it from CRM systems, email service providers, data management platforms and point-of-sale systems via stream, batch and interactive APIs. After profile unification, data cleansing and identity resolution, the activation step sends segments to engagement tools to trigger email campaigns, mobile messaging and social campaigns. For an email team, that means segments built on purchase and in-store behavior, not only on email opens.

Integrations through Sitecore Connect

Sitecore Connect is the integration layer, which its own FAQ calls an iPaaS. The Connect page promises "1000+ out-of-the-box app connectors" and a low-code workbench integrated with the Sitecore Cloud. Marketers connect tools through connectors on a visual canvas and automate data flows across platforms, and data can move in through triggers and webhooks. Field mapping combines predicted entity mapping with drag-and-drop manual mapping, and an API dashboard monitors projects in real time so issues surface before they hit operations. The platform page adds two-way sync for data and workflows and access governed at the connection level, with CRM and analytics named as typical sources.

Beyond Connect, Studio is where customers extend the platform: bring your own tools via API, build your own AI agents, and ship apps through App Studio, which offers APIs and MCPs for agent-driven apps and a path to publish in the Marketplace. The Marketplace holds apps built by Sitecore, certified partners and the community, installed in one click and governed by your admins.

Results the site cites

The Send page carries case studies rather than benchmark figures. Thule, the sports and outdoor brand, is quoted with 47% higher online revenues and a 35% improvement in conversions after refreshing its websites and adding marketing automation and consistent omnichannel experiences on Sitecore. Experience Gold Coast is shown managing content across campaigns on Sitecore. These are Sitecore's own customer stories, not independent tests of the email product.

Pricing and buying

The site publishes no prices; every page leads to "Request a demo". There is no free plan or self-serve trial on the Send page. That fits the audience: Send is bought as part of a Sitecore relationship, often with a Solution Partner involved.

Services and support

The Sitecore Services page lists paid packages around the software. Architect Assistance engagements are "relatively small and short, perfect for solving a single problem". A Technical Account Manager is a single Sitecore expert working with your team over an extended period. Premier Catalyst gives access to a team of experts to run several streams of work in parallel, with custom package sizes. Other packages include a Website Solution Review, Onboarding Services, and CMS and DAM Navigator packages for moving to SitecoreAI. Consultants also give non-technical product guidance, and most packages allow onsite visits. Sitecore360 bundles the most requested support offerings and includes Sitecore Services. Self-help runs through Sitecore Learning, the Developer Portal, the Legal Hub and the Sitecore Partner Network.

Analyst recognition

The home page says Sitecore was named a Leader in The Forrester Wave for Digital Experience Platforms, Q4 2025, and a Leader in the 2026 Gartner Magic Quadrant for Content Marketing Platforms, and it links the 2025 Gartner Magic Quadrant for Digital Experience Platforms. These reports rate the wider DXP, not Send as a standalone email tool.

Who it suits

Sitecore Send makes most sense for enterprises that already run Sitecore's CMS, DAM or customer data products and want email to draw on the same profiles, content and approval workflows. Multi-brand and multi-region teams, and regulated sectors such as healthcare that the platform page names for its CMS, get governance through permissions, approval gates and audit logs. Teams that want transactional and marketing mail in one product can use the Send API alongside campaign automation.

It is a poor fit for a small business or a solo creator looking for a self-serve newsletter tool with a published price list. Send is a module in a large platform, sold through demos and usually implemented with a partner, and much of its value depends on the rest of the Sitecore stack being in place.
