What Sweego is
Sweego calls itself "The European email and SMS sending platform for developers and product builders". It is a transactional sending service: an application calls its REST API or SMTP relay to send order confirmations, password resets, shipping notifications and account creation emails, and the same account sends SMS. The site is published in English and French, and the footer says it is made in France.
Sweego was launched by the team behind Mindbaz, which the FAQ describes as a bulk email marketing solution launched in 2013 and a European email service provider, and which the English FAQ calls Sweego's parent company. The French page links an interview in which Pierre-Yves Dubreucq, CTO of both Mindbaz and Sweego, explains why a traditional emailing company launched a multichannel notification platform. Mindbaz's clients are named as media groups such as M6 Group, Reworld Media, MesOpinions and Prisma Media, along with marketing agencies such as Ividence and Snake Interactive. Sweego leans on that history for its deliverability pitch, citing "Proven results with Mindbaz. (16 billion emails sent per year)", while a counter elsewhere on the homepage gives the company's yearly volume as 15 billion. The French page adds that more than 35 million emails had already been sent through Sweego in 2025.
What a sender gets
API and SMTP. Sweego provides a RESTful API and SMTP access for transactional email, and the homepage says the same API can send transactional or bulk messages by email or SMS. A user can create unlimited API keys and SMTP credentials. The French page walks through a first send "en 5 minutes" (in 5 minutes): create an account, add a domain, create the access credentials, send. Messages can be personalized with dynamic variables, which the FAQ shows as {{nom}} and {{commande}} (name and order).
Authentication by design. Domain setup covers SPF, DKIM and DMARC, and the FAQ says Sweego configures these protocols automatically. The French page explains what each one does, and the resources menu includes a domain authentication scanner.
Templates. An Email Builder lets users design emails with drag and drop and variable support. Template allowances depend on the plan, from 5 on the free plan to unlimited on the higher tiers.
Testing. A sandbox mode simulates sending instead of actually sending, which the homepage recommends for development environments, and the free plan lists a test mode.
Sending infrastructure. The homepage promises delivery "from 50 to 5 million emails" and offers four setups: dedicated IP, shared IP, an IP pool or a dedicated server. Custom headers can be added to each message for advanced tracking, and the homepage shows a sample with campaign tags, a campaign type and metadata fields such as a bill or customer ID.
Monitoring and logs. Opens, clicks and bounces are tracked in real time with detailed statistics. Delivery logs for email and SMS can be searched and filtered for troubleshooting, and signed webhooks push events such as delivered, opened, clicked and bounced into the customer's own application. The platform menu also lists inbound email routing and an observability section.
SMS and other channels. Transactional and marketing SMS can go to many destinations worldwide, and the site publishes a worldwide SMS price list and an SMS price comparison. The FAQ names further channels and ends with "D’autres canaux les rejoindront bientôt" (other channels will join them soon): Slack, WhatsApp, chat, push and in-app. The homepage sums this up as one unified API for all channels.
Frameworks. A customer quote on the French page from The Keepers, which uses Sweego for real-time alert emails, says its team integrated the API quickly thanks to the native Symfony integration.
Plans and prices
The French pricing table shows annual and monthly billing, with annual billing advertised as saving 20%. All prices are excluding VAT.
- Free costs 0€ and sends 100 emails a day by API and SMTP, with unlimited domains, 5 templates, a webhook, test mode and 7 days of log retention.
- Individual covers 20K to 50K emails a month for 8€ a month on annual billing or 10€ on monthly billing. It adds 30 days of log retention, chat and email support, 10 or 30 templates, and overage is possible.
- Startup covers 100K to 200K emails a month for 63€ on annual billing or 79€ monthly. It adds 60 days of log retention, unlimited templates, optional dedicated IPs and multiple webhooks.
- Scaleup covers 500K to 1M emails a month for 216€ on annual billing or 270€ monthly, with 90 days of log retention, dedicated IPs and an optional IP pool.
- Unicorn is priced on request, with everything in Scaleup plus a custom sending volume and custom development.
Sign-up needs no credit card, no commitment and no minimum term, according to the French page, and the free account can send up to 100 emails a day from the start. SMS is bought as credits, with rates on the worldwide SMS pricing page.
Data, compliance and support
Sweego describes itself as GDPR-compliant and based in France, data centers included. The French FAQ says the data centers are located in France, that data is protected under the GDPR, and that the data centers are certified ISO 50001. The English FAQ goes further: choosing Sweego means customer data stays in Europe and "is not subject to the Cloud Act." The footer links a DPA, a list of subprocessors, an acceptable use policy and a public status page.
Support is by chat and email from the Individual plan up, and the English FAQ promises French-speaking technical support. The site links to G2 reviews and names two customer stories, The Keepers for transactional email and Azfate for transactional SMS.
Who it suits and who it does not
Sweego suits developers and product teams at European startups and scale-ups that want their transactional email and SMS handled by one French provider with data kept in France. The free plan of 100 emails a day is enough to wire up an app and test it, and the step to Individual at 8€ or 10€ a month is small. Symfony shops have a native integration, and teams that need to debug delivery get searchable logs, signed webhooks and custom headers. Larger senders can move to dedicated IPs, IP pools or a dedicated server.
It is a weaker fit for marketers who want a newsletter tool with list management and campaign automation. Sweego's own FAQ draws the line between transactional mail triggered by a user action and bulk marketing mail, and describes Sweego as specializing in transactional email via API.
