What Mailketing is
Mailketing is an Indonesian email sending service that combines an SMTP relay, an email API and a simple email marketing tool. Its homepage headline, "Layanan Email Marketing & SMTP Relay Murah Tanpa Biaya Bulanan", means a low-cost email marketing and SMTP relay service without monthly fees, and it covers notifications, OTP codes, transactional email and marketing campaigns. The company lists an address in Pekanbaru, Indonesia, its copyright line runs from 2019, and the site is written in Indonesian. Instead of a subscription, Mailketing sells prepaid Email Credits in Rupiah, which the company compares to topping up phone credit: when they run out, you top up again. Prices start from Rp0.6 per email sent, and new accounts get 200 free credits.
Sending by SMTP and API
The developer side is set up for speed. According to the homepage, you only need to set up a sender address, and you immediately get SMTP credentials (host, port, username and password) plus API access that can be used to send right away, which the company sums up as ready to send in minutes. The startup article lists what even the entry package includes: SMTP relay and a REST API, real-time reports on delivered, opened, clicked and bounced mail, a local server for fast delivery to Indonesian inboxes, support in Indonesian, and no forced Mailketing branding on your emails.
Mailketing does not tell customers what kind of mail to send. The homepage section "Layanan Email yang Gak Ngatur Kamu" (an email service that doesn't boss you around) says it can be used for notifications, OTP, transactions, bulk mailing and cold mailing, and that your sending behavior is yours to manage. The same section lists automatic bounce handling, auto warming, automatic list cleaning, and safe domain reputation with high deliverability even for large volumes. Spam is not allowed, though: the FAQ says every detected spam activity is penalized under the terms of service.
Email marketing without your own app
For users who have no email marketing application, Mailketing includes free list, campaign and autoresponder features. The workflow on the homepage has four steps: create a list and collect subscribers in it, import subscriber data into the list, create a campaign with your email content, and schedule when it goes to the list you choose. Autoresponders handle sequential emails for automatic follow-up, and email blasts are presented as easy to send. Real-time tracking shows open and click rates.
The homepage frames the benefit plainly: an online business can keep selling by email while its owner sleeps, and a list you build yourself means you do not need a big budget to advertise to the same people again. The FAQ adds that Mailketing places no limit on the number of domains, lists or contacts; the only limit is the credit left in your account.
How Email Credits work
The pricing model is the heart of the offer. Mailketing calls its pay-per-usage system Email Credits, and the rules are short:
- 1 email sent uses 1 credit, so 50,000 credits send 50,000 emails.
- 1 bounced email costs 30 credits, which the FAQ describes as a penalty and a fee for cleaning the list. A bounce here covers invalid and inactive addresses, domains that cannot be found and spam reports, and the bounced address is removed from your list automatically.
- The homepage FAQ says credits have no expiry date and are only used up when you send. The startup article puts it slightly more narrowly, saying credits do not lapse on certain packages.
That bounce rule matters for anyone planning a send. A clean list costs 1 credit per address, while a list full of dead addresses burns credits quickly, so the model rewards list hygiene.
Prices and payment
The homepage says Mailketing's Email Credits are the cheapest in Indonesia, starting from Rp0.6 per email credit. A company article aimed at startups gives the range as Rp0.6 to Rp2 per email and names the cheapest package as Rp200,000 for 100,000 emails, which it prints as Rp2.00 per email, adding that the rate can fall to Rp0.6 per email on large volume packages. Prices are flat in Rupiah, which the company presents as protection against dollar exchange-rate swings, with a stable and predictable marketing budget for startups on tight cash flow.
Every new account gets 200 free credits without a credit card and without a subscription commitment. The article suggests using them to test a first email campaign, try sending an OTP or notification, check delivery to Gmail and Yahoo inboxes, and explore the analytics dashboard. Payment is by bank transfer, QRIS or e-wallets such as GoPay and OVO, and no credit card is needed at any point.
The company explains its low prices by its focus on the Indonesian market, infrastructure built around local needs, and not carrying the costs of foreign exchange and foreign compliance.
Integrations, tutorials and support
Mailketing says it is integrated with a range of services commonly used in Indonesia. The most-viewed tutorials show which ones: getting started, integrating with WordPress, connecting Pabbly to a Mailketing list through the API, setting up a white-label sender through cPanel, creating a list, connecting a Mailketing form to Elementor Pro, broadcasting and scheduling email, and adding subscribers to a list through the API. API documentation, a terms of service and a privacy policy, which the company marks as required reading before use, sit in the footer.
The blog covers SMTP, email APIs and email marketing, with recent articles on prospects, market research, personal branding, lead magnets, cold email and the AIDA model. Support is offered in Indonesian.
Who it suits
Mailketing suits Indonesian businesses that want to pay in Rupiah and only for what they send. The company names three ideal users: startups at the MVP stage, seasonal businesses, and SaaS products whose notifications go out irregularly. Developers get SMTP and API credentials within minutes, and small online shops or creators without their own software can use the built-in lists, campaigns and autoresponders. Teams that send cold or bulk mail will appreciate that the service leaves the sending approach to them, within its spam rules.
The site, tutorials and support are in Indonesian, which suits the local market it is built for. Senders with messy lists should clean them first, since each bounce costs 30 credits.
