What Maileroo is

Maileroo is an email delivery platform for sending transactional and marketing email through an SMTP relay or a REST API. It is run by Maileroo Group Pty Ltd, whose footer gives an address in Melbourne, Australia, while the sending infrastructure sits in Europe. The FAQ describes it as a platform "designed to help businesses send both transactional and marketing emails reliably and at scale", with an API, SMTP integration and a dashboard for managing all of it in one place. The homepage calls it "Built by developers, for developers" and says the network moves more than 100M emails a month for more than 1,000 customers. Plans run from a free tier of 3,000 emails a month to custom arrangements for senders of millions of emails.

Sending: SMTP, API and SDKs

There are two ways in. You can plug the SMTP credentials Maileroo gives you into an application, a CMS or a server and start sending in minutes, or use the email API through official SDKs. The API sends transactional and bulk email, renders dynamic templates and automates the account itself, including domains, suppressions and webhooks. The homepage describes the documentation as clear and the workflows as predictable. The dashboard now lists integrations, and if a library is missing, the company's Joey AI can generate an SDK from the API documentation. A recent changelog entry adds a Maileroo MCP server that lets an AI assistant send emails, manage the account and create keys. There is also a WordPress plugin, and one of the case studies describes a Melbourne agency using the WordPress integration for client sites.

Setup happens in a central workspace: you configure verified sending domains, generate API keys, manage webhooks and connect applications. Team members can be invited with granular permissions, and audit logs record what they do, which matters for an agency or a company with several people touching email settings.

Streams, inbound routing and marketing

Streams separate transactional and marketing traffic into isolated sending streams, so a newsletter does not slow down or damage the reputation of the password resets and order confirmations. Dedicated IPs are available for senders who want their own sending reputation. Inbound routing receives incoming emails and routes them into your applications through automation and processing workflows. The email marketing side is for campaigns to people who have explicitly opted in; the site presents it as a way to increase engagement, reach and customer retention, and its footer lists newsletter software among the features. A library of more than 200 free email templates covers newsletters, promotions, transactional emails and announcements, each of which you can preview, download and customize.

Tracking and analytics

Maileroo's pitch for its analytics is that you should know what happened to every email. Delivery, opens, clicks and bounces are tracked in real time, each message has a full event timeline, and you can filter by domain, tag or recipient. Every event is also available through webhooks, so your own systems can store the data or trigger workflows. Reporting tools and delivery metrics round out the dashboard.

Deliverability

Deliverability gets the most space on the homepage. Maileroo says it owns its IP space and vets every sender on it, with tight reputation control, clean IP ranges and intelligent routing, so customers never share infrastructure with bad neighbors. The FAQ lists strict account verification, continuous monitoring, intelligent automation and proprietary abuse detection, plus automatic suppression handling, SPF, DKIM and DMARC support and ongoing infrastructure maintenance. A zero-spam policy means every applicant is vetted and outbound traffic is monitored continuously, and the company credits that standard for its Certified Senders Alliance certification. A live network stats panel on the homepage shows the average time to inbox and the delivery rate, with a fuller statistics page behind it, and the homepage advertises a 99.9% uptime SLA backed by a published service level agreement.

The company also offers free tools for senders: a mail tester, SPF flattening, blacklist monitoring, an SMTP test, an SMTP blackhole, a DMARC record generator, SPF lookup and SPF record generator, among others.

Data location and compliance

Maileroo says data is stored and processed on European infrastructure in Germany, the Netherlands, Finland and France, which it presents as helping with privacy requirements and low latency and as giving redundancy across several locations. The FAQ states that the infrastructure is fully GDPR compliant, and the footer links a GDPR compliance page, a data processing addendum, an acceptable use policy and a refund policy.

Pricing and limits

The homepage covers the pricing model rather than a rate card. There is a free plan of 3,000 emails a month, paid plans above it, and custom solutions for businesses sending millions of emails. Every plan has a monthly quota. Once it is used up, further emails are not sent until the quota resets or you upgrade, but paying users get a 12% buffer on the monthly quota for unexpected spikes. Accounts also have an hourly sending limit as a security measure, and you can ask for a higher one through the dashboard. Payment works by Visa, Mastercard or American Express card, PayPal or cryptocurrency. Non-profits and open-source projects get 50% off every plan after a short note about what they are building, with no lengthy application and no annual commitment. An affiliate program is listed in the footer.

Support

Support runs by live chat and email from a team based in Australia, available from 9 AM to 9 PM Melbourne time, for setup, configuration, integrations and troubleshooting. The company describes itself as a small team, so the person answering works on the product, and reviews on the homepage mention quick answers by email and in Discord, one saying replies usually come within an hour. Migration is framed as three steps: add the DNS records, change the credentials in your app, and send, with the team available for a second look at the setup.

Who it suits

Maileroo suits developers, startups and agencies that want a sending service with an API and SMTP relay, European data residency and a team that answers directly. Agencies benefit from team permissions, audit logs, the WordPress plugin and transparent quotas. SaaS products get streams to keep transactional mail apart from marketing, inbound routing and full event webhooks. Non-profits and open-source projects get half price.

Buyers outside Australian time zones should note that live support follows Melbourne business hours. A team that needs published per-plan prices before signing up will want to open the pricing page, since the homepage centers on the free tier and the quota rules.
