Zenler

Tap a star to rate

Zenler is an all-in-one online course platform for course creators, coaches and trainers, and its email tools live inside it: broadcast newsletters, automated sequences and behavior-triggered messages that react to what students do in courses and the community. The company's pitch is that courses, email marketing, sales funnels, community and coaching sit "together under one login," so a creator does not wire a separate email service to a course host.

The company

Zenler's About page says it "began in 2011 as a training platform for businesses," and that after two years of research and conversations with hundreds of educators it was rebuilt in 2019 to help independent creators grow businesses from a single platform. The same page lists 100+ countries, 60K+ creators who have used Zenler since 2019, and $600M earned by creators on the platform. The pricing page puts it as "Loved by 60,000+ course creators across the globe." These are the company's own figures.

Email marketing and automation

For a reader choosing an email tool, the interesting part is how Zenler ties mail to student behavior. The home page describes it this way: when a student gets stuck on a lesson, or has not logged in for a week, "your email sequences respond to that. Not because you set up a separate integration. Because it's all one platform."

The features page lists what the email side includes:

  • behavior-triggered emails based on course and community activity
  • a visual automation builder with conditional logic
  • broadcast newsletters with A/B subject line testing
  • student segmentation by progress, plan, tag or behavior
  • automated sequences for onboarding, re-engagement and sales

Email campaign open, click and conversion data appear in the analytics alongside site traffic, course completion rates, lesson-level engagement and revenue by product, period and plan. The pricing grid lists Zenler Mail as the sending service on every plan.

Plan limits matter here. Email Broadcasts and Automations are on every plan, but Segmentation, Webhooks and Survey Funnels are listed only on Pro and Premium. A Starter user can send newsletters and run automations, but cannot segment the list, which is a real limit for anyone running more than one offer.

Funnels, pages and blog

Marketing Funnels come in three types built in: Lead Magnet, Video Series and Survey funnels. They feed new contacts into the same system that runs the email sequences. A drag-and-drop site builder with pre-made designs handles landing pages and the main site, with a custom domain or subdomain. A built-in blog adds SEO-focused posts with categories, tags, featured images and full metadata controls. Upsells, order bumps and affiliate marketing are listed on Pro and Premium.

Courses, live sessions and community

Courses are the core product. Creators build courses with drip content, quizzes, surveys and, on higher plans, assignments, certificates and course reviews. Memberships and bundles support recurring access, though the pricing grid lists Memberships/Bundles as unavailable on Starter.

Live teaching is built in: live classes, 1-1 bookings and coaching, live webinars, interactive webinars, and live streams to Facebook and YouTube. The features page describes a built-in virtual classroom with interactive whiteboards and live Q&A, and the home page says recordings go straight to the course. Attendee caps run 50, 300 and 500 across the three plans, and cloud recording is on Pro and Premium.

The community side offers discussion forums, member directories, direct messaging and private group spaces, plus gamification with points, badges, leaderboards and daily streaks tied to course progress. A branded mobile app on the App Store and Google Play is available as an add-on for $197 a month.

Payments

Checkout supports one-time payments, subscriptions and installment plans, with free trials and coupon codes. Stripe, PayPal and Razorpay are built in, and the pricing page repeats that there are no transaction fees on any plan. EU VAT collection, reporting and payment is listed on Pro and Premium.

AI agents

Zenler has added AI agents, all listed as unavailable on Starter. The Re-engagement Agent is marked live: it "Watches your students and follows up when they go quiet," monitoring who has stalled mid-module, who has not logged in and who is one lesson from finishing, and sending a personalized message based on where each student is. A Support Agent is also live, answering student questions and escalating what it cannot resolve to a human; the pricing grid gives it 5,000 messages on Pro and 15,000 on Premium, with 1,500 and 3,500 AI credits respectively. Zen AI, a Marketing Planner, a Flow Builder Agent, Deep Analytics and an AI Assistant are marked as coming soon. AI course and quiz creation are available on every plan.

Plans and pricing

The pricing page lists three plans, each with a monthly price and a lower annual one:

  • Starter: $57 a month, or $47 a month billed annually. 1 site, 5 courses, 1 community, 500 people, 5,000 emails a month, 2 marketing funnels, 10 live sessions, 1 site admin, coupons, quizzes and surveys, blogs and automations. No custom domain is listed on this tier.
  • Pro: $117 a month, or $97 a month billed annually. 3 sites, unlimited courses, 20 communities, unlimited people, 100,000 emails a month, 100 marketing funnels, 100 live sessions, 10 site admins, 20 instructors or course admins, 3 custom domains, live chat, developer API support and AI agents. The page marks it as the most popular plan.
  • Premium: $347 a month, or $277 a month billed annually. 10 sites, unlimited courses and communities, unlimited people, 500,000 emails a month, unlimited funnels, 300 live sessions, 20 site admins, 100 instructors or course admins, 10 custom domains, single sign-on and priority support.

The email allowance is the figure to plan around: 5,000 a month on Starter is tight for a list of any size, while Pro's 100,000 covers a weekly newsletter to a sizable audience. The pricing FAQ says Pro plans support unlimited people with no per-student fees, "the same flat monthly rate whether you have 10 students or 10,000." Third-party integrations, white labeling and bulk import of people are listed on Pro and Premium only.

Zenler offers a 30-day free trial with full access to all features, and the site says no credit card is required and users can cancel anytime. Concierge migration is included on all three plans.

Data, compliance and support

The pricing grid lists EU GDPR Compliance and Language Support on every plan, and 24/7 support on all three tiers. The FAQ says a creator's content, student data and email lists are theirs, with data export on all plans. Resources include a help center, a status page, a public roadmap, a changelog and a user community.

Who it suits

Zenler fits coaches, trainers and course creators who want email to be one part of a teaching business rather than a separate subscription. The behavior-triggered sequences, which react to course progress and logins without any integration, are the clearest reason to use it for email. The caveat is that it is a course platform first: someone who only wants to send a newsletter will pay for courses, live rooms and community they do not use, and the Starter plan's 5,000 monthly emails and missing segmentation push most serious senders to Pro.
